@Koptok01 Okay you just made yourself look like a jackass. 1. No such thing as a poisonous Snake. Things you eat are poisonous, Things that eat you are Venomous. 2.Many non venomous snakes are very powerful, they can constrict and actually usually have more muscles then non venomous ones do. King snakes which get no bigger then black rat snakes actually eat venomous snakes..
Are you,out of youre Vulcan mind thats not a black rat snake black rat snakes are black,I also like how you claim this is a young snake I guess you think it was born 4 foot long lmao
This is an intergrated black ratsnake. Black ratsnakes and grey ratsnakes interbreed throughout a huge portion of their range. This is not a pure bred black rat, or a pure bred grey rat, but it certainly has more characteristics of a black rat so that's what I'm going with. You cannot simply judge what species a snake belongs to by its coloration.
This is a sub-adult and is very young. Ratsnakes grow very rapidly and can reach lengths of more than six feet.
Black rats and grey rats are not separate species.. They are different subspecies. They breed amongest each other where their ranges come together. They are not simply one ofr the other. End of story.
Yea, Brandon is right. The intergration zone between the grey ratsnake and the black ratsnake occurs in extreme southern Indiana and northern Kentucky. Even the ratsnakes in my area are not pure black rats.
I think the only thing you know is how to be a fag,ive proved you wrong on every comment you have made stop dis grassing youre family with youre ignorance
Sorry to tell you but youre wrong, according to reptilewrangler this is a cross between black and grey if grey rat snakes aren't in indiana how do the cross breed, mabey they meet on eharmony
Because the black/gray snakes breed amongst themselves? And they are found all over the place, I have seen a few in my backyard in North Carolina. I caught a small one in my pool, was a really cool snake.
I live in Indiana, but RR tracks are some of my favorite places now. Go near some RR Tracks and flip some of the railroad ties and you'll probably find something.
The one that I found I think is a baby one. He doesn't look big enough to eat even mice, and his head is probably half the size of your thumb. Think that he's old enough to draw blood?
Planning on filming one of these next spring. Such a beautiful species! So much power. Good video!

They intergration zone is on the Indiana/kentucky border. We don't have PURE bred grey rats in Indiana.

How bad does their bites hurt you think?
reptile202 3 years ago
It wouldn't feel good... but most snake bites don't hurt much. Unless of course they would happen to be venomous.
