Airlines in other countries that have had zero incidents of terrorist takeovers don't look for *things* - they look at each person, from the second you buy your ticket. They get a glimpse of your record, your job history, your lifestyle, and determine if you pose a realistic threat. Like @paulmedina said - next it'll be a body cavity bomb - finding things is not as effective as looking at the KIND of person who would do this. What about cargo pkg bombs?

I don't understand how this makes us any safer. The body scanners are only at the larger air ports, so if some one wanted to sneak something through they would take a plane from a small airport to a big one. Or they would do what the underwear bomber did and get on a plane in a foreign county and get a connecting flight to some where else in the US. A good metaphor is that if you dam up 80% of a river, water will still gets through.

Are you sure its not me, I would like people to have the option of going through customs without having to go through scanners if they think they are a health risk. I don't like this scanning crap, or the patdowns, but honestly, the video doesn't make a lot of sense. If he had set off the detector twice, and been pulled for the patdown, or the scan, then I could see where taking off all his clothes would be a way to protest the actions of the TSA....but here, it just looks like some college prank gone really wrong. Protest smartly, anything else sets us back, and hurts our credibility.

The TSA backed off in the face of organized protests against their scan and hands on search policy. Reports from many airports said the scanners were turned off , or sparlsey used at all based on a who;s knows what randomness. Hands on searches were also changed to reflect a kinder and gentler search. It is all so obvious to anyone who has the time and smarts to see what is going on. Me. Imagine, on the busiest travel day of the year, few people were searched in any meaningful way. Why?

Homeland Security is doing a wonderful job on the southern border right now with the help of the Mexican Drug cartels and they are civilian. I don't see any military at our borders because our beloved president doesn't want the borders protected. As they would be if the Nat. Guard were to be allowed. Airlines in other countries that have had zero incidents of terrorist takeovers don't look for *things* - they look at each person, from the second you buy your ticket. They get a glimpse of your record, your job history, your lifestyle, and determine if you pose a realistic threat. Like @paulmedina said - next it'll be a body cavity bomb - finding things is not as effective as looking at the KIND of person who would do this. What about cargo pkg bombs?

I don't understand how this makes us any safer. The body scanners are only at the larger air ports, so if some one wanted to sneak something through they would take a plane from a small airport to a big one. Or they would do what the underwear bomber did and get on a plane in a foreign county and get a connecting flight to some where else in the US. A good metaphor is that if you dam up 80% of a river, water will still gets through.

I don't like this scanning crap, or the patdowns, but honestly, the video doesn't make a lot of sense. If he had set off the detector twice, and been pulled for the patdown, or the scan, then I could see where taking off all his clothes would be a way to protest the actions of the TSA....but here, it just looks like some college prank gone really wrong. Protest smartly, anything else sets us back, and hurts our credibility.

The TSA backed off in the face of organized protests against their scan and hands on search policy. Reports from many airports said the scanners were turned off , or sparlsey used at all based on a who;s knows what randomness. Hands on searches were also changed to reflect a kinder and gentler search. It is all so obvious to anyone who has the time and smarts to see what is going on. Me. Imagine, on the busiest travel day of the year, few people were searched in any meaningful way. Why?

First the viewership was kept secret. It is on nonprofits and activism category rather than news and politics where it belongs. I wouldn't have known about it if it hadn't been for Drudge. Then "bombers" are sent in to spam the site with "truther" talk. Then it gets classified as inappropriate for viewers under 18.

It's actually a good protest. He's saying this is where we'll end up eventually. Stripped down to nothing but our undergarments or more likely naked. As so many have pointed out, one day, the next attack will be a cavity bomb and then the TSA will want to start probing your hole.
It's all security theater to make the paranoid feel safe. "If you don't like the new security measures, don't fly." Well it works both ways. If you're that afraid of getting blown up on a plane, don't fly.

Homeland Security is doing a wonderful job on the southern border right now with the help of the Mexican Drug cartels and they are civilian. I don't see any military at our borders because our beloved president doesn't want the borders protected. As they would be if the Nat. Guard were to be allowed.
