@Kevstar19 Well then why don't you study the effects of Sodium in water. I know what you'll find. so shut up. Learn something before you comment, you're apparently in college so that should be easy. Don't be such a douche.
@GoodBadUglyest Um...I wasn't bad mouthing anyone. I wasn't even bitching about the people who made the video. I just made one comment and now I'm the douche? You're pretty funny dude. To be honest I can't find anything beneficial about sodium hydroxide in lakes...but I trust you.
Go watch Alkalies Brought to Justice It is a science projects where people are act out elements. The elements are villains and a ninja saves the day. If u like it, there is a sequel with epic special effects coming next fall. It will be around an hour and a half long, the video you will see on YouTube currently is 5 minutes
@emurccmailliw you would drink water from a salt-water pond...? And no, it won't hurt the fish and other wildlife, the chemical reaction produces NaOH (Sodium, hydrogen and oxygen - all of which exist naturally in an inert state in salt water). The excess hydrogen is burned up during the chemical reaction basically leaving you with salt and oxygen (and some alkali hydroxides). I suppose if enough sodium was used it could affect the PH level, but it would take more than 5lbs to affect a pond.
Slow this down, zoom in, and you've got Transformers 2.

Is that water useless now? Can you put it in a glass of water then drink after its done with its reaction? Does it harm the fish and other wildlife?
emurccmailliw 3 months ago
@emurccmailliw I don't think you would want to drink water from a lake regardless of the sodium
