One of the highest grossing films in Bollywood ever. Thanks to the talented director who directed both versions. The crew as well did a great job. The director perfected the Hindi version. The movie had a South Indian action packed style mostly seen in Tamil movies which was new to the Hindi speaking audience and it worked well. Thriller and action are lacking alot in Bollywood so this movie was a rose among the thorns. Kal Ho Naho was a gd movie, but can't be compared to Ghajini!

I have to agree with younas567. Bollywood does not not only copy Hollywood, but also the Tamil film industry Kollywood. This movie Ghajini was originally a Tamil movie. The best Hindi movie of the year was a Hindi remake of a Tamil film. This shows the true side of Bollywood. The only think that makes Bollywood very popular is because the west thinks Indian cinema in the whole is Bollywood. National language in India is Hindi. Whereas South Indian cinema is the biggest and the most talented.

You are actually wrong. The storyline is similar as Christopher Nolan's "Momento" is an adapted film version to his brother Johnathan Nolan's book "Momento Mori" The film is quite similar, but we have learnt is that Indians are best at one thing. Taking something horrible(momento) and making it 30 times better(Ghajini).

Amir Kahn did give credit where it was due by saying the movie was inspired by "Momento" but was not a complete rip off.
