I really love this routine, but werent you at all worried that she was going to look att the card when you told her to put it in anywhere she wants at the end of the routine? I suppose you have an alternative of sorts if you are
She wasnt that type of person. She was enjoying the performance. But if she had turned it over I would of just said Yes thats not your card It's over here!
i love the misdirection! that was awesome! you sould have done the trick that you made called "what the huh" to make it a lot more complex, which i would love to see live by the way .
Love it! great misdirection, even watching it a second or thrid time im still fooled! great trick =) its very good to see tricks done in front of the camera but in front of a live audience is a different experience. Awesome.
"well my little brother can't do that" hahahahaha beautiful. The routine kicked ass by the way. Were you working in this clip or were you just out for drinks or something?
I was just out. Thats the beauty of the iPhone. I just hand it to whoever and let them film me. This time it was a long time friend who has seen me do magic from my early days. So he knew how to film it. He did a great job.
There is only one reason you would want me to do that. I really don't want people copying my routine. This routine was created to fit me. Everyone needs to create routines to fit there own style.
@kammagic I understand that everyone should have their own routine, but why did you post your ACR on here? Anyone can steal that if they wanted. And i have seen a lot of ACR's here on youtube that are greatly effected by yours.
Your right. I probably shouldn't have posted my ACR. But everyone does some kind of ACR. Taking bits and pieces from other routines is how we create our own. Besides it's now the highest rated, mosted viewed ACR in the world. I can't take it down now. : )
Does it ever worry you that there won't just be laymen watching in the crowd and that there will be an arrogant person who tries to reveal your tricks?
There will always be people in the audience like that. Its important that you perform with authority and confidence. You can't practice performing this effect at home. You need a live audience. So at first you will get caught many times. This routine was originally just the first phase then I added phases working out the timing and execution on each.
The best advice I ever heard about handling hecklers is from UK magician James Brown. If someone says 'I saw that!" or "I know how that works." or "You're using a string." or whatever. Just look them right in the eyes and say ..."I don't care if you know how it works". Once they see that they don't bother you, they no longer have any power. I have diffused many hecklers by simply saying "I don't care."
It all depends. There is no one way to do it. Sometimes you need to be aggressive, sometimes you need to say it in a joking manner. All this depends on you, the heckler, the situation, the group you are performing for. In other words it's something that must be learned.
Excellent ! Hey, who originated this trick ? I studied Paul Cummins' "Just in case", which seems to have been a starting point to your routine... Great job !
This is such a valuable vid because it shows that timing, pacing and audience management is just as important as sleight mechanics - maybe more. Some smart publisher should capture your live performances. Hey L&L, hint, hint.
In my opinion this performance tops your ACR anyday. This IS a great lesson in misdirection!! I only watched it once because its not often being a magician AND getting fooled - thanks
She is beautiful btw :)

HAHA! As in the description box, what the guy said to Kam before the trick. That guy just had NO idea who kam was! Look how he fooled him EVERYTIME.
And BTW great camera view.

@kammagic and would this work on an effect your doing to anyone, if they said them things?
MagicialSmoke 1 year ago
@MagicialSmoke
Well they are not magic words. It also has to do with your confidence and style. Best way to find out is try it out yourself.
