The idea of this song bein a "goodbye" really hurts. I wish I could give him all the money that I have, so he can buy some new suits and be lazy all the time he wants.
@Skookumech Or you could stop being a pedantic lazy b and either make your own video or search 'leonard cohen' into google images. Do you honestly have nothing better to do than sit and watch a series of photos? Read the news or something.
yes. we're all going home. when a "brief elaboration of a tube" this bag a bones is finally retired. and none of us will take our burden with us. what a wonderful little love song!

Actually, Leonard has a way of getting tickets to his fans for less, but I'm not going to share this with folks who do appreciate the heart and genius of this man. Did you know that he was almost penniless after his manager stole his money while he was in the monastery? To suggest that this man is motivated by money is ludicrous. I don't regret a cent I have spent on his concerts. WilI buy a ticket for anyone who can convincingly prove that he ripped of TS Elliot. Show Me the Place!

Too bad the great poet is now charging $ 175.00 for his fellow brothers to see his shows.
Takes all the beautyu out of his auithenticity. I use to love his work, but now I see him as just a brilliant profitier who coined a few key phrases of surrender and sorrow to snare the change
from the pockets of those who believe in the journey.
Its gets pretty obvious after awhile that he really is the guy who led his followers to the flame.
He always warned us that he was not for real, I believe him now.
@Camus915 Ok, I respect your opinion but, shouldn't he be entitled to some reaches after menaing so much for s many people? Remembre he lost all he's money when he was living in the monastery? Also seems to me Mr Cohen is somewhat above that kind of presonal greed.
@Camus915 the costs to host a live show have to be covered, they dont magically appear, still $175 is pretty cheap to see a brilliant musician compared to the costs to see many other artists which can cost upwards of $300 to get a non garbage ticket
@Camus915 Mr. Camus915, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
P.S. Camus is one of my favorite philosophers and was very well off, too. He charged market price for books, lectures, etc.
Congratulations for not ruining this with some fuckin awful homemade video or photo album!

If you're going to share music using YouTube at least you could make a gesture and put up some visuals. I guess as the lyrics go, "a lazy b..."

Question: Does Cohen still define success as survival, at age 78?
Answer:
"Yeah," he smiles. "It's good enough for me."

Katherine Takawitha, Virgin of the Shores, God knows how far you moccasins were laced up.
Read Beautiful Losers.
Alone with my radio I lift up my hands, welcome to you darling and friend who miss me forever on our trip to th then end.
I know that Mr Cohen ripped off a lot of T S Eliots Wasteland, but it still works forty years late.
