  • I dont get it , what does he want to show by this .....

  • your quinto is tuned very low...

  • Dont do this to yourself. If you were on a Djembe, I think it would have sounded better. Unfortunately, you will have to suffice to the critizicism of the people who take the time to really learn the art of the conga. Untilizing the tone technique that Tata Guiness brought about. If you are not familiar with this name then you need to check it out if you really want to get series. Its all about sound and golpe.

  • It is not tuned correctly!

  • so good intrument and so bad conga player!!!!! oo god!!!

  • U NEED PRACTICE.

  • tune that drum!

  • he's a hippy come on (greenpeace) respect dude

  • Deepest quinto sound I ever heard. This guy is a djembe player having fun on a quinto drum.

  • if you were playing on the concert, nobody would hear you.

that's why conga players use a TECHNIQUE ;)

  • Dios mio por favor!!!!!!!!!! toca como hombre, parece un nene 5 anitos ,jijj

  • man .... all your videos are always the same rhythm and same style i get bored now

  • I think that quintos are underrated..they used to be the main drum...the great Machito played one with big bands like Dizzy Gillespie !! They have a great quality all their own ,

  • puro chamuyo...ni un solo golpe como la gente, malisimo!

  • Love you're freestyle "i play drums" attitude.

  • colega estudia bastante

  • You will get it sooner or later, the slaps, muffs etc. keep on practicing

  • Let loose brother. Don't just bang the drum. You need to make love to the drum!

  • Ma, you do not seem to have any kind of proper conga playing technique - at least not in the traditional sense.

Sorry for being harsh, of course you can do what you like, but it is understandable that your posted view raises criticism of real congueros.

Greenpeace is another matter: SUPPORT GREENPEACE EVERYBODY!!!

  • what is greenpeace?

  • I totally agree, you can not call yourself a conguero. Since you are on YouTube you need to check out some real players and learn how it's should be done properly. I would be emmberrassed if I were you.

I don't have to ask if you are in a band or not do I? YouTube has a lot of excellent videos and you should really , no really check some out.

  • No me gusta nada...

  • he has rhythm! no doubt, but he uses no technique :/

  • siplemente un baterista¡¡ que agarro una conga............cuallllquiera

  • aja! exacto.... esos bateristas dbrian kedarse sentaditos i djar a los dmas q agan su trabajo

  • u have no slap, no bass, no open tone no muffle!!! u have no things.. pratice lil bet more!!

  • horrible

  • Thank you for posting this video. You have obviously played for some time and certainly hear an inner rhythm.

I think you are actually playing a conga...a quinto has a smaller head and a higher pitch.

I hear very little pulse or dynamics in your playing. A song or even a driving rhythm is not conveyed. A slap or pop would add tons to your sound.

  • dabbababbbabbabbdbabbdbabdabdbabdbbbabbdabbabdabbdbabdbdbdabbabbdbbabdbbabbaadbadbabdadbbbbbaaaaabdadbbabbdbbabbdbabbdbbabbdadab

  • that not a quinto.. it sound like a normal conga.. u need to tune it up ... and lurn a lil bet the sound's like slap bass and a good open tone coz there is not..

  • Hey...give him a break!!!Mi amigo..it sound great...

  • where are the slaps? where is the heel-tip?

ok you can tap on the drum fast and somewhat rhythmically, but you need to learn conga technique. this is like playing only one note on the sax instead of all 8 in a real solo. get a teacher or video and learn conga technique.

  • Swishbelly learn heal-tip and slaps. post video soon!

  • very good point, man. Cheers, Sandro aka Merecumbé

  • Good work btw but seek out an afro-cuban style teacher add this technique to your repertoire and you will be fantastic.
