I test drove the Kizashi two weeks ago. I must say it is VERY nice. I tested the SE Leather Edition, and I must say, the acceleration was pretty good and the CVT was not as bad as I thought, and in manual mode it shifts instantly. Very nice.
If he's going to complain about it not being a bargain basement BMW he should drive the 6 speed manual and not complain about the "stiff" suspension (which isn't any stiffer than my father's BMW 3 series).
I autocross mine and it's very competitive in its class. It feels sportier and more luxurious to me than the Mazda 3 that I drove, for not a lot more money and far better styling.
What a shitty review, just like all reviews from Consumer reports. They always focus on the stupidest things to nag about and never focus on the good parts of the car. Did they even try the 6 speed manual? No, did they try the stereo? No, did they tell you how it'll smoke a Focus/Jetta/Carolla for less money? No, did they tell you that it's got 184 hp? no. No wonder only 16 people liked this video and 19 didn't....
I'm a car guy, and the Kizashi has been out for more than a year. I've still never seen one on the road. It seems hampered by it's high price, and so-so engine.
@somewhatlongdong It's not high priced and if you think about it, the 4 banger does give out more HP than the Jetta and Civic, and Camery and Carolla and Focus, and things like that, it's the badge that hampers it. Suzuki is barely able to sell over 600 per month wich is sad when it's a MUCH better choice compared to the Civic, Focus, Carolla, or Lancer. Espcially with that horrible VW 5 banger that drones on even though it's not a CVT. 184 hp isn't too bad for this small a car.
im thinking of buying a suzuki but cant decide which one, this one or the sx4 hatchback......hmmm i want luxury and a standard tran but it doesnt come in all wheel drive then......blasted! maybe i should just stick with my old suzuki swift.....still havent put oil in the engine and its been 3 weeks!! runs like a top, so if anyone says their unreliable i'd say their full of complete shit!
You'd think these guys would know that engine noise for BRAND NEW cars is higher because the engine hasn't been run in yet.... The CVT is actually very quiet in this car, can't even hear anything at 10k miles.
@Nightbird You have some of your facts wrong. For example ask any current Samurai owner, they will tell you that car is one of the most reliable out there period. And as far as consumer reports only speaking the truth? Are you so ignorant to believe that anyones OPINION is unfalible? Even in this review, the person is human and just giving his opinion. That doesn't make it the only truth. Also Suzuki didn't make the Trooper, that was Isuzu. Another example of your ignorance lol.
@CBRRiderr That's incorrect. Suzuki is bring more cars to the U.S. The Swift is soon to arrive including the new Swift Sport model. They are also bring over another new model new to the U.S. , a new Urban Utility Vehicle. Their new line up for 2012 will consist of Swift (GS, Sport), SX4 (Sedan, Sport, SportBack, Crossover), Kizashi (S, GTS, SLS, Sport), New Urban Utility (S, XRS), Grand Vitara (S, Premium, Limited), Equator (3 versions), XL7 (for 2013 MY based on stretched Kizashi platform).
Test drove this car today and I could not believe that I'm driving Suzuki !! Really good car and I can get an SE for $ 20.656 !!! Anyway, I "burned" myself few times with CR's advices and I have to tell that people should not make decisions based only on them....
I'm an Audi guy but I saw one of these in the metal the other day and I did think "Wow! Cool car" It is squat, sporty and aggressive with stying that isn't contrived or derivative. Damn good job Suzuki. It looks as though it should have a 3.5 Litre V8 under the bonnet (imagine!).
If it did I would be first in line to buy one, but then I'd probably be fighting for my spot!
the market i think is the younger market, who dont want a big sedan but want enough space to be able to carry groceries. the same market as the civic i guess i would put it as.

You get all of those features but bluetooth? Give me a break! Either don't talk on the phone while driving at all, or get a bluetooth headset!

get out while you can. suzuki has 0.3% of the market and they are taking their lineup down to 3 cars.
