@johnrigo Not really. Where as Sins is a much broader game, Homeworld gets down to the nitty gritty of running a fleet of ships. Think of it as if you had a super capital ship that could build all the ships in Sins, but only a few at a time (like early game amounts). And you don't have to manage planet resources all that much.

i mod some mechs in my homeworld2!^_^ hehehe..the easier way to mod a mech is to copy the parts of the mechs in the gundam model manuals...

great game, but the backgrounds gave it some coolness unfortunately that EArth like planet doesn't fit into this galactic nebula background. Impossible because to have an earth like planet, the gases would have formed with it and would be entirely clean outspace type darkness.

Thats what i love about the game though, the gaseous nebulie atmosphere. But that planet looks soooo out of place.

Not necessarily. Our solar system floats within a dark swath of the galaxy's Orion spiral arm. Were it located closer to the core, much like the Higaran system, we'd see more luminous stellar gas.

@pkscolax We still can too. Light pollution blocks out most of it, but at night,if you're isolated and far away from any major light source and don't have any around you outside, you can see the Milky Way and a kind of fog surrounding it, which is the gas inside it.

I miss that game :( The mods are good idea, but they cannot replace a new official release. I hope soon they will announce a third Homeworld. But relic are doing DOW and Sierra are working on the new World in Conflict, nobody knows when they will come back working on these series.

THQ bought the rights to the HOMEWORLD universe from Sierra two years ago. Relic have said they're looking at ideas for HOMEWORLD 3 and discussing them with THQ. So nothing definite yet, but there are no further legal hurdles stopping HW3 getting made.
