Question, why not just baptize these children when they are babies? Yet people will claim they receive the Holy Ghost whey they are 4 or 5. Spiritually speaking do 4 and 5 year olds or for that matter 10 year olds understand the true meaning of right and wrong and what it is to be a Christian? I would think not, therefore let these kids be kids, God will judge them when they have understanding.

@colbski2012 I'm sorry but the Bible never states that speaking in tongues is part of getting the Holy Ghost. The UPC church and a few others assume this from the text but the Bible never says it. Act 2:1 and a few other scriptures in Acts do mention speaking in tongues and it was a gift to help spread the gospel as Christianity was in its infancy at the time and not too many people spoke different languages therefore that was the specific reason for God giving people the gift of tongues.
@colbski2012 It is not as evidence that you have received the Holy Spirit...who needs this evidence? You have a promise from God (see Acts 2:38) that if you repent and are baptized then ye shall receive the Holy Ghost. The Bible doesn't state that you will know you have received the Holy Spirit when you speak in tongues. Its simply an assumption and you should never make assumptions from the Bible. Doesn't it make more sense for God to use tongues as a way to spread the gospel?

I was raised a lazy Catholic..baptized as a baby and went to church for funerals. On Oct 11, 09 I received baptism in water and came out speaking in tongues. I was baptized in the Holy Spirit. I had been living a life of drugs and deep depression. I was a very strong non believer and I thought this was demonic but through my personal desire to know Gods existence he led me to truth. I came with a made up mind ready to receive and I did. No spiritual background just an unimaginable hunger.

Question, why not just baptize these children when they are babies? Yet people will claim they receive the Holy Ghost whey they are 4 or 5. @colbski2012 I'm sorry but the Bible never states that speaking in tongues is part of getting the Holy Ghost. The UPC church and a few others assume this from the text but the Bible never says it. Act 2:1 and a few other scriptures in Acts do mention speaking in tongues and it was a gift to help spread the gospel as Christianity was in its infancy at the time and not too many people spoke different languages therefore that was the specific reason for God giving people the gift of tongues.

@colbski2012 It is not as evidence that you have received the Holy Spirit...who needs this evidence? You have a promise from God (see Acts 2:38) that if you repent and are baptized then ye shall receive the Holy Ghost. The Bible doesn't state that you will know you have received the Holy Spirit when you speak in tongues. Its simply an assumption and you should never make assumptions from the Bible. Doesn't it make more sense for God to use tongues as a way to spread the gospel?

I was raised a lazy Catholic..baptized as a baby and went to church for funerals. On Oct 11, 09 I received baptism in water and came out speaking in tongues. I was baptized in the Holy Spirit. I had been living a life of drugs and deep depression. I was a very strong non believer and I thought this was demonic but through my personal desire to know Gods existence he led me to truth. I came with a made up mind ready to receive and I did. No spiritual background just an unimaginable hunger.

You have the capability (like everyone) to accept reality, and make a contribution to the rational world. I'm not proselytizing, I am pointing out a little common sense. When you hear the same thing shoved at you since birth it is hard to conceptualize otherwise. You can do it. Simply thinking you are "filled" is enough to trick your brain (simple psychology).
