Saw these guys in concert in 1974 right after graduating high school. Was dating a guy that loved concerts and that summer we really went to some awesome ones! Very grateful to him that he had great taste :-) saw Aerosmith,Johnny Winters, the LEGEND Eric Clapton! Man,awesome ones.We dated a year then broke up when found him with my cousin.life goes on.On my own I got tickets for bad company, foreigner,Peter frampton,Yes,REO Speedwagon,Rolling Stones,Styx,Ted Nugent,Pat Benatar,etc,outofroom;-)
Remember this song like it was yesterday even though it was made in 1968. Man i was lucky to have been alive and aware enough when bands like Deep Purple could spoil me with songs like this. Just makes what passes today for music seem totally devoid of life.
hey enzo, thanks for uploading i love this song. 1st heard it while playing battlefield vietnam. loved flying with huey's at this song, anyway good job with the upload.
@tripfunkmonster If you liked this song I would suggest looking up songs from The Album Come Taste The Band. Tommy Bolin Plays with them and the entire album is a master piece. Commin' Home, Getting Tighter, Dealer, and YOu Keep On Moving are the best songs on that album IMO.
My uncle was a pilot for a huey gunship and he played this song over and over. At Operation Hastings he could hear the North Vietnamese army trying to sing this song !
I need a word beyond awesome to describe this song.
I had to make one up. I'm going for Ox' Eng'...press this issue!!!
Cailyfunbooble (adj prop): That which stirs one inside in a fashion that denies expression, rendering human communication facile and weak and with that knowing we are more that our thoughts and language.
theyorkshirewhites ....... I have the 45 and yes it is on Parlophone. From what I can make out HUSH is the "B" side and One More Rainy Day the "A" side. One more Rainy Day being Number 21157 and Hush 21158. Hope that helps.
Wasn't this their first hit from the 60's? I remember I had it on a 45rpm single. Before Smoke on the Water, which was their breakout album. Every band in the early seventies played Smoke on the Water. It only has like 3 chords! Anyone could play it!
@theyorkshirewhites I don't know. My sister took all the 45 rpms with her when she moved 100 miles away! But I never listened to the B side. Just Hush. The only B sides I listened to was the Beatles.
the lyrics have to mean something if they dont ******* mean anything then the song get's ruined. if you say that lyrics don't have to mean anything you can't be fucking serious . the lyrics is everything!!!
@spindlylive What kind of ignorant fuck face says lyrics are everything? Thats just the sort of generation we live in now, its not a song until some whiny singer is in it. Grow up.
@spindlylive if the lyrics mean everything then how do you explain insturmentals, classical music, "walk like an egyptian, I think Im turning japanese, whip it, zabadak" ? Like everything in life beauty is in the eye (ear) of the beholder, because my friend, my meat just may be your poison
@spindlylive Not neccissarily, there are songs that a nonsense lyricwise, but are still great songs. "A Whiter Shade of Pale" and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" are some of the best examples.
Lyrics doean't have to mean anything. The voice is like an instrument, doesn't matter what comes out, aslong as it sounds good and fits the song. Next time, before you post such a incompetent comment, think about why people sing in songs. It's almost only because that it sounds good, not always just to send a message.

@ZapCannon5 I know that album. I used to have it on 8-track. killer guitar licks, I think Tommy Bolin is extremely under-rated
