my best music memory is of this song. i had to watch "romeo and juliet" for a college class, and right when the end credits began to roll, all the students quickly stood up to leave. then this song started to play, and everyone in this huge 200-seat hall, slowly sat back down one by one. i'll always remember how quiet and captivated everybody in the room was by this song. black kids, white kids, young, old - it didn't matter.

this song is utterly transcendent. i'll never forget that night.

That guy must've been irritating him the whole show. There's a song somewhere else in the set where it sounds like the same guy yells, "Nice shoes!" at an inappropriate time. Him just yelling "Tommy" here doesn't seem much different from everybody else yelling. Regardless, what a tool. It's a cool, moody tune. Just sit back and enjoy it and keep your yap shut.

Did they play Paranoid Android in Dallas. I went to the Houston show and they didn't play it. I was bummed. Would've loved to see this one too. They played a bit more of the new album than I would've liked. I love the new album but would've preferred to hear more classics.

To answer your original question, no he was not in Phish. The frontman of Phish was Trey Anastasio (that might be who you mistook for him), but as far as my knowledge goes, Thom Yorke was never in that band for even a brief period of time.

By this point in the show the audience was really feeling it, and the cheering does sound a little out of hand in the video...but I don't remember feeling at the time like there was so much crowd noise it detracted from the song. Aside from the one asshole Thom calls out.
