the Bungee cord DID NOT BREAK. I know it LOOKS like it but it didnt. the cord was not rigged right at the end. and the rubber loops that make up the cord peeled off of the spool because they did not use a continuous loop but instead a single webbing strap with a knotted loop on each end and they missed one of the loops and the knot was too bigto pull through the spool center, sideloading the spool and causing the rubber to Peeel right off of the spool. Making it look like the cord broke.

But all in all I'd say that's not too bad broken ankle better than pancaked on the ground.Which would have happened if they wouldn't have hadntthe airbag. I know all the stories of almost every bungee accident. I was on the NABA accident investigation team in the 90's NABA was the North American Bungee Association. Every accident were ALL human error, NOT equipment failure.
