Blossom retired in 2006 due to health concerns and she died quietly on February 7th, 2009 in Greenwich Village apartment.

Why haven't we heard more of Blossom Dearie over the years ?- was it maybe because she lived in the shadow of Ella Fitzgerald etc ? what a great cool voice she had !

I first heard Doreen Shaeffer (sp?) sing this with The Skatalites... this is such a great song. So well constructed, but I especially love Blossom Dearie's piano playing and obviously her singing too!
