My sister had Tommy Roe's 12 in a Roe compilation. It included an interview segment. He said that he wrote Everybody while on tour in England. There was "an unknown group at the time called the Beatles."

This is the only recording I know of where Ringo plays a "Wipe-Out" style galloping beat. Funny how George forgets the lyrics at 0:30

This was at The Star Club, Hamburg. Ringo was recruited from Rory Storm and The Hurricanes just before the Beatles got their record contract in 1962. He never played at the Star Club, this was Pete Best.

Wrong. Ringo joined the Beatles in September of 1962. This was recorded in December.
