  • Thanks for the tip. It works now. I also put a T Rex 250 tail mount on the sr it flies awesome.

  • Can you give your out your dx settings. I've down loaded some on utube but idle up doesn't work

  • @Scottsr450 pitch curve for IU 0-25-50-75-100 throttle curve for IU should be something like 100-100-100-100-100 or 90-90-90-90-90 that is how i run them..

this video was a while ago and i have had a few radios since, and different radios need different numbers to get the same feel. put in that pitch and thorttle curve and IU should work...

  • @dannylightning So how long you been flying rc helis??? Cause this blade Sr is not a easy heli to fly, Eflite say it is and they lie!!! I bought one and crashed it to destruction...The blade 400 and the AXE 400 is easier to fly so I heard from experienced guys!!! But nice flying though..Glad to see someone really fly the SR instead of just hovering it...LOL

  • @cowbells4u at the time of this video i had only been flying about 4 months. I am going on 2 years not and i hahve advanced at this hobby in a way most people don't, i guess i am kind of a natural at it, i still have a long way to go to be at the pro pilot level, if i get there some day cool, if not than i am still having fun

The SR is not easy to fly so i agree with you on that, i have newer videos of my flying the SR and some of my other helicopters, blade 400 and AXE 400 are junk.

  • @dannylightning But why are the AXE 400 and Blade 400 junk?? Cuase they are not a $900-1400 kit like the T Rex 600 or 700E?? I feel that way in some ways, but they teach you the skills till ready for a big expensive heli like a Trex 700e or N. Part to repair those are very expensive!!!

  • @cowbells4u they do not fly good and have lots of problems. my old blade 400 had issue after issue, ESC problems, gyro died, servos died and it flew like a sloppy mess. than i got a align 450 and it flew circles around the blade 400, there are many brands way better than align though. align is where you start to get a good flying descent quality helicopter. bottom line is in this hobby you get what you pay for. you buy cheep and you get cheep

  • @cowbells4u part 2-- the align T rex 450 is pretty nice, align T-Rex models are where you start to get a good preforming quality helicopter, the blade 450 looks very nice for a E-Flite product. my friend got one and its took me by surprise how well it flys.

No collective pitch helicopter is going to be easy to fly and if you dont know what your doing expect to destroy it, phoenix RC flight sim is the first thing to get to learn to fly a RC helicopter.

  • @dannylightning Yes I see that too..the Walkera, Eflite, Esky helicopters are nice and will teach you..Not to mention parts are cheap..But with a Trex 700, JR vibe 90, you are getting the BMW or Mercedes of Rc helis!!! I can see that by looking..those are real competition level helis...

  • how bout yer.

  • Dude I am just gettin in to the heli thing but watching your vids makes me want to just fork over the bucks and get it all now... Jus dropped a bundle on a AR Drone it has been a blast but I'm lookin forward to spring ....then I'll pick up an SR with all the trimmings...Nice Flyin dude!

  • @silverwolfrandy the SR is hard to fly, tail motors suck and the tail will blow out all over the place and it falls out of the sky pretty easily compared to larger ones, but that is actually good to start out on something hard to fly, it will make you a beter pilot , if you can fly this really well you can fly any thing. crash cost is really inexpensive on these if you cut power to the motor before it hits the ground and crash on grass. great starter heli, get a sim first.

  • @dannylightning Great Advise!

  • can you give your DX6i settings please?

  • @drsiteweb i have not had the sr in months and i upgraded to a dx7. i cant help... but i can send you a message with a link for the settings i started out with and than tweaked. i also had some simple inexpensive mods to this sr to make it fly this way. i do remember the swash mix menu on my dx6i alie and elev was pumped up to 80

  • In 1989 you would have CLOSED the CIncinnati Flying Circus. Impressive man. Let's go to IRCHA!!!! Aug 10th - 15th.

  • Thanks for the encouragement. I must be on the right track because I'm crashing on a regular basis, lol. I get comfortable with some moves then one step beyond and crash. I am getting better and more comfortable every week and the time between crashes has been extending.

  • your not that good

  • @yz426clint Thanks for the opinion, i thought you might be a really good pilot so i went to your page to check out your flying videos, but you have no video's when you get some up let me know.

  • @yz426clint And before you're quick to criticize, learn to spell! The word "Your" is the second person possessive adjective, used to describe ownership and when used correctly, is almost always followed by a noun. The word "You're" is a contraction for "you" and the verb "are" (you are).Ex: You're very critical (You are very critical).

  • @Whatthe243 lol, i thought you were saying this to me.

  • Dam dude what sim did you get I cant do shit on mine.

  • @hardvvood at the time of this video i was using the realflight G5 simulator, i recently switched to the phoenix simulator probably a little over a month ago and phoenix is so much better its not even funny. phoenix is the best sim for helicopters hands down.

  • In a word - Inspirational.. Awesome flying! I love all the heli videos you've uploaded. Thumbs way up, twisting, back and forth and flipping. I started with my SR 6 months ago, picked up a 400 and decided to hone my skills with the sr and go easy with the 400 for now to limit it's damage (and mine LOL). Figure I have another couple of years to reach the level you are flying at, but I'll enjoy every second.

  • @KaluaRcVids Thanks, when i first started i spent hours and hours and hours on the sim, i flew my 4 batterys on my SR, came home charged them and went out and flew again. all i did for a few months was fly my heli and fly the sim. i crashed that little SR constantly. i was willing to crash to learn something new, and i pushed myself hard to progress fast and i did. when i got over the fear of crashing and pushed my self to the limits every flight i progressed fasst.

  • @KaluaRcVids i am not saying you should do what i did, get crazy and crash all the time but i am saying that is how i got good, with the average SR crash being 5 or 10 bucks it was great to learn on, every one progresses at their own pace and as long as you are haivng fun that is all that matters.

i ran the blade CP barbon blades and if i crashed on grass and hit the throttle hold in time they hardly ever broke, hit concrete once and they are done,

  • WOW MAN. This makes me want to get my SR working. It's NEVER worked. It spools but the tail has never initialized. Sucks.

  • never knew a SR could do this kind of flying ,,you are a great pilot ,,nice control man !!

  • @bassax7045 i would like to try that stuff with a SR now and see how it reacted now. it was a fun little heli and it taught me a lot. and thanks for the comment..

  • Phat flight! Keep up the good work!

  • danny just watched your video again mate. Very well done, didnt notice the crash at the end before. I turned my gyro back to 60% and put a new canopy on this morning and went for a fly. I was doing nose in hovers, big figure 8's and big circuits. Im uploading the videos now so check them out laters. Thanks.

  • @stalyoni all i did was strip a gear, slightly bent the fly bar and had to pop a ball link back on. just took it out and hovered it and it flew perfect. the crash was because i tried to do something stupid. the sr does not roll over fast enough to try it that low to the ground lol.

  • nice flying danny, i put my gyro to 72.5% and i crashed. The tail wouldnt hold at all at that setting. Luckly i only smashed the canopy, it could of been alot worse.

  • @stalyoni, thanks. where do you usually keep your tail gain?? if i put it any higher it wags like crazy. maybe it is time to replace your tail motor, i hav always used that setting, if the tail is not holding well its time for a new motor, at least that is the way it has worked out for me.

  • @stalyoni i put it back to 60% like i normally have it and it was fine, check out my new hover videos. This was just after the crash. Just with no canopy. I just thought i would try 72.5% cause yours seems so stable.

  • way ta go there danny.. what da heck happened at the end.. look like mine did we get to close.. lol told ya that ground will come up n bite ya lol get her back up and keep doin good danny those happens its called learning

  • @MrDazhim72 i got carried away, it started flying backwards and i was doing so good so i thought i would go with it, it got close to the ground and i realize it not working out, i try to flip it upside down and moe the lawn, well that did not work either. lol i don't know why i did that.

  • Very good flying today!!!!

  • @JFandL55 thank you, it was a lot of fun..
