Not tapping right. For example when you start the solo at frets 2, 5, and 9, you are going in this pattern: 2, 5, 2, 9 / 2, 5, 2, 9 / 2, 5, 2, 9. Notice you are going down to 2 every other note you hit.

The Correct pattern of tapping is: 2, 5, 9 / 2, 5, 9 / 2, 5, 9. This is the correct way which is to start from 2 up to 5 up to 9 and then pull off of 9 down to 2 again.

Hmm, he seems to be using the 3rd finger on his fretting hand for hammering to the note before tapping and repeating the process, etc. I use my pinkie but I might start on the 3rd finger a lot more now, I guess that would be the strongest finger to hammer on to certain notes.

Yeah, try turning up the volume/gain a bit. Also you might need to turn up the treble.

You need to play with an amp plugged in, and then you have to make sure its on its highest setting.
