I'm glad these guys didn't make it as big as U2 .The record companies just would've changed them and their music. They will always remain one of the best bands of the 80's.

Yeah, I knew as soon as I heard Interpol, that they had to be into the Chameleons. A great influence to have. The Chameleons were true artists. Deep stuff here.

All of these bands like Joy division, The chameleons, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the banshees, Echo and the bunnymen, The birthday Party, Stone roses, Inspiral Carpets, The cure were or are the best bands in the whole music history including the punk bands from the 70's.

Is song about music business exec/yuppies? The fist song I heard of their's was Don't Fall, which I thought was of a general Gothic theme, until i read it was about a bad trip Mark experienced. I like the fact that their themes vary from the spiritual/political/coporate. Live any gothic residue you get from the studio (especially to the causal listener) is blown away (the energy, delivery, the rawness, the lack of affectation). These performances are a revelation- post punk gods.

This lyrics refer to a little confrontation they had with Killing Joke, as they had a gig together.KJ came 5 hours later and as a result Mark and Dave could not check their sound, instruments.When KJ started the concert, Mark and Dave ruined them the show.Chameleons dot com, enter lyrics, "paper tigers"
