  • hahahaha me too

    !

  • lol i typed yioutube and got this

  • From Bangladesh:

The total cost of this apparently benevolent project (including hardware development, marketing, hiring Yves Behar etc) have probably exceeded millions of dollars. Wouldn't it be better served building libraries in developing nations? You know, a book (Those series of pages with black squigly lines) is a proven technology for thousands of years.

With 100 dollars we can buy 100 books for a kid. Why should my govt spend millions for your American idea of tech education?

  • with laptop you can access to million of information

    book cannot do that,

library cannot be built in remote area as not many people can afford to borrow every single book,

with laptop this problem can be solve , and it is a lifetime learner

  • yioutube lol

  • me too xD

  • lol same here

  • same here =[

  • same but i typed in yioutubne and it said dont you mean yioutube and it led me here

  • I have one of these Laptops. It is VERY good with Internet acsess, you can connect almost anywhere. However, there are many flaws. You can't use it to play games or anything related, and you have to be careful when using the internet because you need to find special firewalls. If you are looking to get a laptop for the first time, I would reccomend it, but if you have the extra money, definatly go for a real one. The OLPC probably compares to Windows 98, but still missing quite a few features.

  • yioutube

  • yiotrube haha

  • I would buy one for my mom.. heh..

one of the best worlds laptop for a low price.

I mean you don't need a state-of-the-art pc if you ain't into state-of-the-art graphics (by that i mean artists or hardcore gamers).

But for me, as an artists, Wacom Cintique would be better, which is rather the most state-of-the-art / expensive.

  • This project is really awesome! I'd love to buy one for programming :p

  • great idea.. i see this will toasted out microsoft..

in the future, there will be more than 55 billion child trained in linux OS.

  • @kambingbetula Since the world has 6 billion people, your comment makes perfect sense.

  • I know this isn't really aimed at your average tech fan but I WANT ONE!!!!!! Sod it I'm going into my attic to get my old pc working and try out Unbuntu... get into the spirit of this thing!

  • i want one too. it looks kiddish but its still a real laptop...

  • Mary Lou Jepsen is my new hero! :)

I loved how she took on the point how this is not a product, its a global humanitarian cause.

  • What makes me a little scepticaly is the whole myth around this olpc. Its realy a great idea, but i won't solve problems so easy as people think.

For me this olpc is a symbol og 21.century. Not in the kind of humanity but in the simple way of reality.

the whole world gets connected. this can also create more problems than solving. but thats written in the stars.

  • Twomaze, yes it wont solve all the problems but atleast its a start. We are finally giving more than just food and medicine, we're giving a child the potential to be like one of us. EDUCATED!!
