  • I hate flying nowadays, due to more security TSA measures, although I can see why they would do such. I live in Colorado, and even though we don't have super high speed rail here, I may plan an Amtrak trip somewhere within the continental USA.

  • Our trains will continue to top at 70mph, while the rest of the world's trains keep getting faster; pushing the 200mph mark.

  • train approching ???? it's come and gone. PLEASE stay behind yellow line, enless want a shave and a haircut

  • That's fast but guest what my remote control airplane will beat that. And I got a multiplex funjet ultra travels 185mph let's raaaaaaaccceee

  • Nice ! And we do not have these running all over the country , WHY ?

  • You know, I totally support Obama's Rail Initiative if they're going to build more quality trains like this one

  • @croc17046 the trains are going 220 mph wen its done in year 2020

  • "Train approaching! Please remain behind the yell(sonic boom)"

  • Best damn train on American rails. What a rush!

  • LOVE IT!!!!! Thanks for posting the video.

  • LOL thats ugly thing went past in flying colours lol

  • I like the vid. Try a tripod and remove the hanging lens cap. Keep them coming!

  • its sad that they don't let the Acela reach its test speed of 162mph

  • I have been to Kingston to watch acela trains, very cool.

  • if it was goin any faster you woudn't have time to get behind the yellow line! lol

  • the guy stand aginst the wall looked at the camera man like "did you see the train number"?"i didnt see the train number"."i think that was my train"

  • holy chit

  • That

    Was

    Assome

  • DAMN!!!!

  • Shut the speaker mouth up, lol.

  • I grew up in North Kingstown, not far from the Kingston station, back in the 1970s and 80s. The tracks were not far behind my house. You could hear the tracks whistle when a train was coming if you were standing near them. I remember when they replaced the tracks with new track and replaced the wooden railroad ties with concrete ties in the late 1970s.

  • That's fast!!!

  • awesome video i rode the acela before

  • wow, thats one quick train. Glad to see its not just the UK which has silly nanny state warning messages aaaages before the train actually hurtles through.

  • Great sound..

  • I am in the aviation field and will admit flat out that high speed rail is FAR more efficient for travel under 500 miles...maybe far more. To run from Boston to NY or DC, the Acela is the way to go - bar none.

  • have these trains in the subway

  • absolutely. I have taken the train many times and flown even more. Its a speed/ comfort issue. if you have the time, take the train. 1000x more comfortable. And if its an overnight trip GET THE SLEEPER CAR. only thing it doesn't include is alcohol. if you really have to get there right now, take the plane, but the sardine effect is really sukky for just about any amount of time. and oh yeah, trains run when planes cant.

  • We need more of them and better tracks like the German ICE.

  • HOLY SHIT! That's fast.

  • That train warning sure is great!! If you ain't behind that line.......game over! That Acela sure as crap won't be able to see until its to late!

  • FUdge that was awesome!!!!

  • THAT was a buck-fifty no question about it!!

  • god the train comes out of nowhere!!!!!

  • Thats intense

  • 150 mph??? Maybe 90mph

  • Maybe 150

  • No doubt in my mind that was not 90.

  • its 150mph.

  • they need to put in gates and fence like they did at the Disneyland Monorail station.

  • Wow!!!!

  • Image one person waiting at the station for over a hour, and they hear that.

"Yes! A train is coming! Finally!"

    *train passes by without stopping*

    "Wait, no! Come back!"

  • Man that thing rockets through the station.

  • "Train approaching. Please remain behind yellow line."

Ah, nice and straight to the point. Unlike the SFO Airtrain, "(slowly) Please hold on, please set luggage cart brake to on."

  • Oh dear. I do remember that being annoying...

    Good video, KawasakiPlant.

  • Our trains are going faster. But this is awesome too! :-D 5*

  • What's up with the negative rep on this comment? He/she gave the video 5 stars and said it was "awesome". Sheesh...

  • I fixed it.

  • wicked fast

  • I like these fly-bys :)

  • damn it sacred you?

  • That didnt look like 150mph to me tbh

  • Now thats fast!

  • This happens easily over a thousand times a day in Europe. No problem. I'm sure you get the occasional idiot that steps in front of a train. But thats a problem a 50 mph just as much as it is 150 mph. It is such a thrill riding high speed rail.

  • someone stepping infront is a problem at 20mph atleast if they get hit at 150 they die before they feel pain :)

  • Whoa. That is why I have to start recording trains and not as many buses. great video!!

  • I think its great that they have not re-calibrated the recordings to accommodate the Acela. The train has passed for about 9 seconds, an it still tells you that the train is approaching. Never ridden the Acela that far north, but am a frequent between DC and NYC. If I remember correctly, the ones at METROPARK are calibrated.

  • Really nice video. I like it.

This train are made in Canada by Bombardier Transportation.

  • I mean he is made in Canada.

Awesome video. I'm giving you 100% grade.

    Super.

  • Cool. I can confirm that this stretch is where it does hit high speed. Just posted a vid from onboard.

  • high speed rail is the best form of transportation up to 1000km distance

  • LOL... That was cool.

  • I can tell you from riding a few through there that she is up to about 147 by the time she goes under the bridge, but up to 150 by the time she's just past you.

  • Yup, the speeds for kingston are 141-152 MPH.

I just took this thing on the 10th, but on washington line. Up to 135 mph.

  • Not true, they are already doing it about 1/2 miles away from the station. and about a mile away going northbound.

  • @KawasakiPlant hope later on we can have all other trains go 220-230 mph

  • COMMMENTS ARE WELCOME

  • I guess
