Nissan hang in there sence 1990, and not before 1999 they won the works championship, to bad they didn't start in 2000, they would have given Ford some competition for sure. GO NISSAN PRIMERA! :D

The BTCC during the 90's was the best, but cost cutting at the start of this decade has killed the championship. Bring back the manufacturer teams and the crazy spending. I have TOCA2 aswell and its my favorate racing game. But it covers the '98 season not this one.

Super touring needs to come back but with a slight change to allow upto 3.5L engines and upto V6 configurations.

MSA rule changes turned BTCC into what it is nowadays , shite! The supertourer era gave much better viewer and spectator entertainment , better cars on the grid all being saloons. There are diesels in there now for fuck sake! This era needs to be bought back!

they are all super tourers, eg the vectra, primera, mondeo, s40, a4, accord... these cars are all saloons. nowadays you have a mismatch of anything that the teams choose to race. before it was run by the manufacturers which gave everyone a good chance!!

I have this video of the 1999 BTCC and can still remember vividly Matthew Neal winning his FIRST EVER BRITISH TOURING CAR ROUND at Donington Park. I've even been to Donington. OK, I also remember Peter Kox making history at the Snetterton night race by being the first Dutchman to win a British Touring Car Round. A neat video- Bravo

David Leslie was always so near and yet so far in the BTCC. A great guy and a great racer but never quite achieved what he should have for one reason or another. 1999 was his best shot since his Vauxhall days.
