To get back to what we were talking about (sex ed), your argument is a false analogy. We don't encourage kids to drive drunk or do drugs because those things can kill you... sex can't. Puberty allows for you to have sex, which means some portion of the bell curve is going to give it a shot. It's not encouragement, it's education, and it's not about animal gratification, it's about understanding what's going on with your own body.
Relationships are a personal choice, marriage isn't the only option. As long as both parties are consenting and respectful, as all children should be taught regardless, I don't think premarital sex is such an awful thing. I agree that a more comprehensive approach is better, but it's parents who teach their kids when/ with who it's OK to have sex with. I don't think a school can stress one option as more right/ wrong than another when that perception is based entirely on society and opinion.

No, the rights they already have and which no government can rightfully take away may begin to be observed. Human rights do not come from the Constitution. Certain parts of the Constitution prohibit our government from violating certain human rights.

As for not being treated as prisoners of war, this argument has validity. It would be more appropriate to treat them as criminal suspects. But you want it both ways. You can be at "war" (undeclared) when you want to blow shit up, but when you capture people your natural doublethink kicks in.

He has been trained to not care whether the argument is correct, only that it is as convincing as possible. Right and wrong, yes? Neither is absolute, both are relative. Life doesn't work in black and white, it's all shades of gray. Some may be more white or more black than others, but how gray it is depends entirely on your perspective.
I've come across this before, that conservatives think of themselves as the white knights of America, defending the rights of the unborn, the innocence of children and their ever important "family values", which justify hatred towards gays.

To get back to what we were talking about (sex ed), your argument is a false analogy. We don't encourage kids to drive drunk or do drugs because those things can kill you... sex can't. Puberty allows for you to have sex, which means some portion of the bell curve is going to give it a shot. It's not encouragement, it's education, and it's not about animal gratification, it's about understanding what's going on with your own body.

Relationships are a personal choice, marriage isn't the only option. As long as both parties are consenting and respectful, as all children should be taught regardless, I don't think premarital sex is such an awful thing. I agree that a more comprehensive approach is better, but it's parents who teach their kids when/ with who it's OK to have sex with. I don't think a school can stress one option as more right/ wrong than another when that perception is based entirely on society and opinion.

Once injected into our civilian courts they will obtain the same US citizen rights and a higher standard of prosecution not granted in military tribunals - ie if you didn't read them rights, release classified docs & phys evidence, etc.. w/ a demand for case thrown out at every turn, & them released here!!!

The Geneva conventions are the "supreme law of the land" because they are ratified treaties.
As for not being treated as prisoners of war, this argument has validity. It would be more appropriate to treat them as criminal suspects. But you want it both ways. You can be at "war" (undeclared) when you want to blow shit up, but when you capture people your natural doublethink kicks in.

I recognize that you *claim* a legal and ethical difference between "military tribunals" and the US court system. That government lawyers have twisted themselves into pretzels to justify this difference by creating a new category for person, "illegal enemy combatant", to argue that no treaty obligations apply. If they claim civilian protections, you say they are combatants. If they claim POW, you say they weren't wearing uniforms.
Your lawyers have tried to create a rights free zone.

Maybe you haven't spent enough time with lawyers to know how they work. A "good" lawyer is a guy who can make an argument for you. He has been trained to not care whether the argument is correct, only that it is as convincing as possible. The "brightest minds" in law are the ones who can find a legal argument that up is down, or craft an argument based on the meaning of the word "is".
That a lawyer can be paid to take your position is not surprising at all. It's what they do.

No, it's the charter document for the government of the US.
When the Constitution was created, the dominant political ideology was natural rights / social contract. The constitution was intended as a social contract between the US citizens and its government. That the citizens are the party doing the establishment is not relevant to the fact that part of the contract "persons" from certain actions of the government.

No, the United States Constitution is a charter for the US government. It's purpose is to define what the government is and what its powers are.
It is a list granted powers, and procedures. The Bill of Rights is a partial list of the things the government is prohibited from doing. The Constitution does not "apply" to the citizens in the sense that you mean. It is not a grant of rights to citizens, but a rule book for what the government is and is not allowed to do.
