  • First game @ Tiger Stadium with my Dad & Grandpa: Aug 4. 1963 - Doubleheader vs Baltimore. Box Seats: Price $3.50 and

I still have my Ticket stub !!

Best day of my life. Thanks Detroit.

  • @willypdyer Awww. that's such a nice memory. I like Detroit too.

  • Most wouldn't know that Detroit was the 4th largest city in the early 50's and the home of the American dream. By the late 50's and 60's, people began leaving the city for the suburbs like Southfield with their lower taxes. The highways began moving traffic and you could live 30 miles away and still get to work in the Motor City. When the 1967 riot occurred, white flight accelerated and began the downward spiral of Detroit. Still, I always remember Detroit during its heyday and love it forever.

  • Okay........someone, anyone 'please' tell me..........that exactly killed Detroit? I'm from the UK...i've been to the states before (1976, Boblo island) and yes, like most other big citys, shit happens. However, i've read her everything from ''paid of goverment''...(mayors police chiefs etc) to what you call ''racist'' comments.......WFT ppl.........just spit it out

  • @ChaosDemonwolf People very ignorantly just blame all the black people for it turning out the way it is.

  • Comment removed

  • we all know who killed Detroit people are just to scared to face the truth

  • Oh my god seriously?

    I mean, really?

If you want to be hateful fucking go somewhere else.

Because I don't want to hear it okay?

Did you just watch this just to say things like that?

    I mean really guy?

    Grow up

  • what was hateful about what I said. I lived not to far from Detroit maybe you should educate yourself about why detroit is a freaking fourth world country. Truth Hurts

  • I don't see how I could "educate" myself about who is to blame or what is to blame for it being in bad condition.

  • @TasteOfTorment by the way you talk.. you're black, aren't you?

  • @coolmojito No sorry dear.

    I'm white.

And I would LOVE to know why you are asking me this.

And by the way that I talk? How would you have me talk to prove my race then?

  • @TasteOfTorment because you sounded like a reverse-racist obsessed colour person, that's why. Actually that's a very wide spread problem in america: stop being so race obsessed, you idiots! there's more important things, like this city that has gone to shit because of racism and corruption

  • @coolmojito THAAAAANK YOU!

    I agree!!

Racism is a core problem in detroit. Mostly because people are influenced by what they're surrounded with.

I just didn't want to deal with what I've seen on other videos like, "Niggers are the reason Detroit is shitty." or anything like that.

It bothers me because there are so many more problems that influenced Detroit's downfall.

I LOVE the mayor's new idea to turn a big part of the land into farm land! I think it's a great idea.

  • It's so sad what happened to this city.

  • Yeah I know. It used to be so, boomy, you know what I mean but, yeah. :]

It sure is beautiful now...kinda. In it's own special way

  • The architech of some of the buidings are hot...I hope they can save them

  • I know! I love them all. Detroit is a beautiful and history-rich place. I really wish that all the old buildings would stay up. Thank you for commenting <3

I love to see other people see more then just a dilapidated building.
