  • Blind leading blind should be the title of this. Exactly how do you propose rotating the body of the flash to have clear line of sight between the 2 flashes.

  • this sould be funny shouldn it ??

  • Pointless... Tell me something new ;)

  • This "expert" produces some of the worst educational videos on the web. She talks about things before she explains the preliminary info, then she presents it poorly when she gets to it.

I'm going back to Adorama 1 on 1, also on youtube, for actual information. This series is a profound waste of time.

  • Spare your time, all this infor about flashes is in the manual.

  • SHE Believes? What An Expert!

    I Know!

  • Photosion on Facebook. a page for sharing amateur and professional pictures made by yourself ... or just observe others pictures. if you want to share ur work, or just enjoy the pictures posted, go there and give a "Like".

  • Vague!

    And wrong facts indeed.

  • Yes a great way of getting a flash to work, but the downfall of direct ir light is an issue, so something like a pocket wizard or similar would be a preferred option to keep the creative juices flowing and creating interesting lighting set ups.

  • @ surferboy360 - your such a dumb ass.. you obviously don't know shit about photography, why don't you go get eaten by a shark

  • @TheFootographer Yes I do.

  • Very affordable! Only $500 a flash, shit I will just take that out of my coin purse. I don't know what kind of dope your selling lady but that shit is far from affordable.

  • "extremely affordable" hmm, if you're a good pro photog with big income yes. One of those flash guns cost upwards of $400 EACH! But the effects it gives is indeed amazing if used correctly. I just don't like it when flash guns are called affordable because they are not.

  • All of u guys are really good but she, at least, did something.

Not that I agree 100% but in a way flashes do comunicate that's why u use the slaves. (wirelessly)

  • can u put those pictures of before and after? thankyou :)

  • if she shut up id rather look at her than listen toi the shit !!

  • 3 groups of flashes (A,B and C) but an UNLIMITED number of flashes.

  • I guess they just like being on video, because they sure don't teach anything. This was absolutely painful to listen to.

  • Not cheap!!!

My Olympus does that but each flash it's 400 bucks!!

  • can someone explane how to increase and decrease the flash power on a nikon sb900????????????

  • marry me!!!!

  • how do i close this huge paragraph over the image!!!!!! its so anoyng.

  • Nice presentation. Great vid.

  • It is affordable relative to buying studio strobes and battery packs for onlocation shooting, but it is still expensive and yes Surferboy you can have a master flash such as the speedlite 580EX II control other slave lights. This is very common with Nikon. My brother shoots with a Nikon D 300 and uses a SB-900speedlite master with a SB 600 slave. I use a Canon 50D with a 420EX Speedlites and a wireless transmitter.

  • this infra reed area needs to be facing the other infra red area ????...WT#$%..miss...dont go on youtube lecturing about this topic....be more technical...read the flash manual and use the proper techical terms.

  • So is it any flash that can be the Master? From what I read, my flash that I have now, 430 exII Speedlite, can only be used as a slave...the one above it has the capability to be the master...the more expensive one...ugh...I hate using flash! lol

  • @MeeskaGurl Yep, you're right. Only certain models of flash have the ability to run as a master. Some cameras have this ability built in, as well. For instance, my D40 (I'm a Nikon user) on-board flash can't be a master flash, but the one on a D80 can. Most of the more pricey flashes can be both slave and master. I wouldn't say this is more affordable than buying lamps, considering you'd need to get up to 3 flashes, and then still have stands for them.

  • master and slave? lol

  • bit ironic how its meant be a tutorial on lighting yet they have a huge shadow on the wall and the subject is overexposed on the left side of her face

  • @ciencin DITTO!!!

  • I don't think she's realised that if you rotate the flash, only the head moves, the body of the flash, including the sensor, stays pointing in the same direction, as it's connected to the camera hotshoe....

  • she has rotated the remote flash not the master flash that is on top of the camera...

  • WOW! Flashes comunicate with each other?

You clearly have very little knowledge on tecnology, now I´m not a god of photography, but, get your info first, then talk.

  • @surferboy36O

LOL you are a dumbass. I pity the people around you if you have that kind of attitude. Here a person is trying to help out others, and you come with your dickhead comments. Jesus, this world doesn't only have alqaida, it has people like you too.

  • @TheyCallMeRome You got me all wrong, I saw this video trying to learn something just like you, and I instead I get this idiot who doesn't know what she's talking about. I'm sick and tired of looking for knowledge and finding these phonies everywhere(specially in youtube videos) who teach absolutely nothing but pure gibberish.

  • @surferboy36O Damn right!

  • @surferboy36O : high end Nikon and Canon systems do in fact provide that functionality. Nikon speedlights can be triggered with inbuilt pop up flash in the camera; while canon ones need a Canon flashlight to trigger the 'slaves'.

Simply put, in such set up, the master flash (either the pop up or the external one) will emit pre-flashes which when hit a light sensor in the 'slave' can trigger the slave, even the info on the intensity..

  • @surferboy36O Correct me if i am wrong but camera sends a command through the master flash for the slave flashes to fire. So in the way, master slave do communicate

  • @Kevin56957 Yes, but she is confusing several concepts: light reading, master/slave flash firing, wireless infrared transmition. I was being sarcastic in regards to the communication comment.

  • @surferboy36O When you use Canon speedlights they do, the master controls the other slave units.

  • @cambike I know, I was being sarcastic.

  • @surferboy36O Fucks sake, its just a figure of speece, do you take everything so serious? When someone tells you to turn the TV over do u actually grab the TV and turn it 180 or 360 degrees? I bet you do dont you? Is that why your names suferboy36O?

  • @LyricallyBlessedTV This is not about being literal, it's about people knowing squat about something, and pretending like they do, even worse making a minute and a half "educational videos" which completely lack of content, and are confusing for the very people the video is intended for. Besides being a conceited bitch doesn't help.

  • Great Results, yes... Extremely Affordable, NO F'ing Way!

  • Sorry, good effort, but very confusing, no help at all in explain the wireless remote, I guess?

  • Thanks!

  • This particular video has been extremely useful to me. I just purchased my second Canon flash today and I wasn't quite sure how much reading I'd have to do in order to understand the basics. After viewing your video, I already have a better understanding of how to use the two flashes. Thanks.
