  • No, there are no specifications on the string spacing for a harpmaker to follow. Every harpmaker decides the string spacing according to what they think it should be. In fact, we have our own models of harps with 2 different string spacings. The Ceili has a tighter string spacing than our Swan which is a little wider. Other harpmakers have different spacings from each other usually measured in octaves and it ranges from 3 1/2" to 4 3/8 for the same octave. So Dave is correct in what he said.

  • at 4:15 he states that their are no specification on making the harp and that is incorrect, their is a specifications on the string spacing, but not the body and look, other than that the harp sounds absolutely exquisite. the sound quality is stunning good job Dave I would buy a harp from you, as for harsdottir comment they definitely are better than Dusty Strings and Lyon and Healy, when a harp is made by a person and not a corporation it shows, support local harp makers!!

  • thanks agian
