  • Bonjour.

  • It is extremely beautiful the sound. What is the name of the song? From corpse bride, yes? Very nice little instrument. Very cute, I saw one in a barn once at an estate sale, but it was in Norway, so I couldnt buy it and take it home with me:)

  • Hello, the sound could be better in fact; and this very old instrument need repairings again today. It's not so little, and in french wood (very heavy !). The songs are mixed; there is a litte of the 'Folia' theme, and a little of Tim Burton indeed :) Let me know if you can find your own instrument ... There a a lot on the Net and in bargain stores !

  • This is the very same instrument I've got at home. Mine is dated 1871. Wonderful tone isn't it ? Good luck with it, Nico

  • Wow, welcome to the club ! It has a great tone, from very bright 'cor anglais' to the very sweet flute. But mine needs an other revision : with the air of his new location, wood and touchs have moved a lot ...

  • Yes, indeed, but very 'sensitive'. His wood moves a lot withe very change of temperature or humidity ... But the reeds don't : yipee !

  • its nice to see people taking an interest in these pieces of beautiful instruments. I too have taken on the task of rescuing 2 reed organs and have been restoring them strange thing is , that of the two I have both have the same notes not working in the form of Broken reeds each organ has a broken reed of the first d. any idea why both would have the same problem?

  • Interesting post. I have also a reed-organ, but the first D is OK. I had that problem on the harmonium you see in the video. The problem was caused by rust (? water+iron) on the biggest reeds. They fold, then broke ... Perhaps because they were the most lenth, so the most fragile.

  • I meant to say D#, on both instruments, there was no sign of any corrosion on these reeds . I ts such a coinciodence for both to have the same problem on the exact same note.

  • Very curious, indeed. If I found something in my documentation, I'll say it to you.

Te invito a ver mis videos.

  • Muchas gracias ! I hope you will post more; mine will come next week. Hasta mas tarde :)
