is the Poly version much different as far as capabilities? i like your programming. Really creative. Thinking of getting one but the Poly is so much more than the mono version which is what you have right?
Can the MEK and the Evolver Desktop be chained for 2 voice polyphony? If so, how do they sync? Could I for instance program the same patch on both units using only the knobs on the MEK, or do I have to program each unit individually?
@janxenjanxen very simple sound with some resonance and tuned feedback. tuning of the feedback creates the polyphony. ah, and output hack was there, afair.
yep this is the clip that made my mind up about gettin one of these. I like the fact that you play around with the sounds rather than just show a wanky keyboard solo. The sounds are outta this world. I'm hopefully securing one over ebay in 5 hours....cheers! Dave Smith rules!
@jriceblue Z1 is good. but has very slow and wearisome interface. what about sound? ok, you can modulate everything by everything. but... whatever you do - you always can say: i've already heard it in previous patch. if you create something very complex - it will be unmusical and may be muddy. if you'll hold on musicality - the sound will be stupid. there is cool arpeggiator. but it's buggy: it works properly only with the internal clock.
@jriceblue so... Z1 is good for fx or something like this. but even in that way - evolver is my choice. it's analog, it has lots of knobs, more modulation capabilities, more clear and juicy sound. i just can't imagine what can give me the poly evolver. =)
@leerique Thanks much; that sounds about what I expected to hear. ...Sounds to me like the Z1 might be a bit like Absynth in that way. CRAZY powerful modulation... but somehow every sound makes me say, "hhmmn, it's Absynth." :)
Very nice demo! One of the better demos of the Evolver on youtube I must say, both playing and sounds. Thanks for that! :-)
Nice to hear new and home brewed presets instead of the usual standard presets. I did recognize one of the presets (6:09-6:37) though as sounding very much like a standard MEK preset.
not all..you played some preset seq's.

You should play some drum n bass beats while improvising with your MEK.

Wow, awesome demonstration! You really know how to make this thing howl and weep, I quickly forgot that it's monophonic.
You should search: Jexus Nord Lead 3
