  • love !

  • So, do think that this song is a confessional? They have been up front for years on what is the driving force for the band. It is NOT make believe.

  • Bill Ward played on Psycho Man, and this song (Selling My Soul), is a drum machine. You're welcome.

  • I love the Guitar riffs on here. Sounds just like the good ol' Iron Man riff master, Tony Iommi (MY HOPES GO OUT TO THE IOMMI FAMILY! Get well soon Tony) we all love you

  • great song

  • can someone tell my where i can find tabs for guitar ???

  • if you dont like this you should commit suicide, or maybe take up country western?

  • @garyshepherd1 I hear you like to take it up the butt

  • I love this song ! pure Black Sabbath sound !

  • Please Sabbath, do not try to 'modernize' or 'update' the sound if you do a new record. This sounds like crap. Crap song, obviously recorded on a computer, levels are all wrong for Sabbath. Since when is Ozzy's voice twice as loud as everything else on a Sabbath recording? Since when is the guitar compressed all to shit and overdubbed 5 times? Weak. Go back and do what made people love you in the first place. Record onto TAPE, no more than 8 tracks. Record with Steve Albini in Chicago.

  • @MarcusErection This is an example of a person who can't deal with change.

  • @TheRokunana can't deal with crappy music, more like it

  • @MarcusErection It's not the best song ever made but I wouldn't call it crappy. I'd say it's decent. If you want crappy go listen to that Adel person.

  • @TheRokunana This is a crappy song, nowhere even remotely in the league of Sabbath's best. Why even bother releasing anything if it's not up to the standards they set in the past?

  • @MarcusErection What exactly makes it crappy? Give some explanations for your opinion.

  • @TheRokunana It sounds overprocessed, no heart. It is not exciting, it's boring, the mix is terrible, the vocals are too loud, the guitars sound weak and overcompressed, it has nothing at all that people love about Sabbath. It sounds like a Ozzy solo song, and not even a good one.

  • @MarcusErection man your a complete idiot ay you clearly ha\/nt listened to enough sabbath. idiot.

  • @p1xelz If you think this song is good, then maybe you are the idiot, this song is terrible. I think maybe you are a gay.

  • Comment removed

  • @MarcusErection obvious troll is obvious

  • @TheRokunana The song is plodding, goes nowhere

  • im a huge fan of sabbath every era of sabbath but to me selling my soul and psycho man are bad songs, i tried to like them but ozzys robotic voice is just annoying

  • I love this Song My favorite Song¡¡ anddd Hole in the sky * ¬ *

  • this uses the same notes as iron man

  • At least this track is better than Psycho man.

  • wow. ppl dont listen to what is in plain view. he explained how he is famous. i cant believe it. he told the whole story.

  • It seems like Ozzy 'borrowed' the melody at 0:17 from one of his earlier solo songs, "S.I.N.", from the 'No More Tears' album.

By no means note-for-note, but close enough to always make me think of it when I hear this song, even though the tempo is slower on this one.

  • @Billinois78 and at 1:07 Ozzy borrowed the vocal melody from his song "Secret Loser"

  • reunion en 1998 de este grupaso!!

  • Their best song. It tells you the truth, where they are coming from. Did you hear a 'click' at 1:22?

  • Their best song. It tells you the truth, where they are coming from.

  • this is bonus song for Reunion album 1997

  • Comment removed

  • This is why Ozzy is The Prince of Darkness

  • who ever clicks dislike on this song should get their hearing checked

  • @princedarienlover and or genitals chopped off...

  • sorry bill ward but i do not like the drums at all. it sounds way to computer like or is it just me? Psycho Man sounds way better drum wise

  • @bloodymetal2222 That's because it is a drum machine!

  • @bluesy73 why the hell would they use that. its sabbath they have one of the best drummers ever. do you know if he was sick or something?

  • @bloodymetal2222 Selling My Soul uses a drum machine. Bill's laid down track was deemed "too out-of-time", so they used a drum machine instead.

  • @bloodymetal2222 Taken from Joe Siegler's site.

  • @bloodymetal2222 Look at the credits on the album, Bill Ward did not play on this or 'Psycho man'

  • @MarcusErection Bill ward played psycho man I believe,Vinnie Appiece played selling my soul,as bill had a heart attack, that is why he had his hair cut so short too, from his hospital stay.He has been a vegan since.I think Vinnie played the final part of psycho man only.He followed them on tour also in case Bills health didn't last. Thanks

  • Yeah,it's cool. I STILL don't like SELLING MY SOUL though. Sounds too much like Sab trying to sound like what people who don't really LISTEN to Sab think Sab sounds like. Iommi is the original riff machine, but it seems he's lost his sense of melody and risk taking. I feel the same way about THE DEVIL YOU KNOW album.

  • @Chrisdrumz

    I must agree

  • Horrible song.

  • @Chrisdrumz that dosent mean too much coming from a Kiss fan. lmfao.

  • @ClassicRockfan79 I know GOOD Sab when I hear it,and this sure as shit isn't it. I'd almost rather listen to the 86-91 era than this and THAT ain't saying much.

  • @Chrisdrumz i never said it was their best. i just couldnt understand how someone that likes kiss could actually judge a good band like Sabbath.

  • @ClassicRockfan79 Actually it's very simple. Anyway,i'm not judging the band,i'm judging the SONG. Big difference. KISS happens to be a great rock-n-roll band. No,they are nowhere NEAR Sab,but they do have their moments. So you are implying because I am a KISS fan I have limited musical judging ability? That's just a foolish assumption on your part. Unless of course you are trying to be funny, then it's somewhat amusing.

  • @Chrisdrumz i guess you think all the songs on Kiss Sonic Boom are better than this? lol. Kiss is a product, .a toy company, they didnt get rich off their music, they got rich by selling toys, and Gene simmons is the most ego driven asshole on earth. sure they had moments when they forgot the bullshit and did ok, but Genes big money ideas have made the band look like a joke

  • @ClassicRockfan79 My god.....................FUCK NO DUDE. Sonic Boom sux. I'm no KISS mark man. Gene has destroyed any credibility KISS had. You actually sound like ME when i'm ranting about the current "KISS/ Thayer/Singer imposter situation". Look,it seems you and I have gotten off on the wrong foot. We have much in common. I forgive you for attempting to insult me. Let's be friends?

  • @Chrisdrumz we see eye to eye.. the way you think about kiss is the same as i do. It almost sounds like your words are mine. im just sick of it all, Gene has taken shit too far, Kiss caskets, motor scooters, candy, potato heads, its too lame. sonic boom was freakin terrible, i actually bought it, and it sucked so bad i threw it in the back of my closet, Eric and Tommy are Gene and Pauls new puppets they do what Gene says or else. My fault dude... im cool with you if youre cool with me.

  • @ClassicRockfan79 congrats gentlemen on the first mature conversation on a youtube comments page

  • @19CODYAS91 i never really understood why everyone on youtube gets all pissed off and acts stupid over matters of opinion, its simple if you disagree, then debate about it in a cool way without all the childish crap. and not many other people would act as cool about it as Chrisdrumz.

  • in my opinion bill ward drum pounding makes them sounds sabbath of the 70s & 80s

  • @Terrible1 actualy scratch that Id say B-Side for sabbath bloody sabbath simply because of lyrical content. Riffing I'd still go with master of reality though...

  • Man, that'd be something if they got back together and made some more songs before they call it quits...which I doubt they will do. It would be insane to get another album from the original Black Sabbath and a reunion tour...

  • i would say technical ecstatcy or never say die

  • a sabbath classic.

  • The Riff sounds a bit in places like the irff from Iron Man, and for me it could easily fit on Sabotage.

  • They were actualy trying to come out with anouther studio album at this time but the record companty kept pushing ozzy to complete down to earth, so they canceled the album in the middle of recording

  • this doesn't sound like a drum machine at all to me, its not robotic and the phrasing bill does with the tom's and the snare drum together is there sound's so much like bill. If the drums were MIDI or a drum machine it would not have this feel. it would sound synthetic but it sounds like bills Tama kit he used for the tour. I could be wrong though

  • This song and psycho man arnt on any old sabbath album, they are new songs for the reunion album

  • lo maximo

  • Iommi is the Rff MASTER! He can always a compose a riff the can blow my mind and he prooved that again with ''The Devil You Know'' LP

  • Geezer's bass has a nice clanky sound in this. You guys are right, it does sound like Master of Reality era riff.

  • In 2005 Ozzy performed sick for about three months, I was there but I didnt care, he's still got it. hehe... :D try to pick him apart but he always wins he is awesome forever!

  • Ugh drum machine....

  • Why did you get thumbs down, this song did have a drum machine. The band did even varified it, it was because of scheduling conflicts and they couldn't get Bill in at the time... Selling My Soul and Psycho Man were written quickly for the promotional purposes of the reunion as the band has stated.

BTW I get my facts from the book Black Sabbath Doom Let Loose which includes MANY true interviews with members of the band past and present.

  • Psycho Man however was bill... Or maybe I got it mixed up. But I know one of the two songs had a drum machine

  • i like this song bey

  • hey i like this song

  • who care what early album!!! New and unreleased stuff is what we really crave!!!!!!

  • im trying to figure out in which early sabbath album this would go on :|

the riff sounds like 70s sabbath to me

i like this song more than pscho man on the reunion album

  • Yeah sounds 70`s

Sounds a bit like a song that would fit Master of Reality maybe

    Regards HailTrueHeavyMetal

  • @Terrible1 vol4 or sabotage

  • @Terrible1 I'd say it would be on sabath bloody sabbath

  • @Terrible1 Sabbath Bloody Sabbath perhaps, it could be Sabotage as well.

  • @Terrible1 master of reality...

  • @Terrible1 it has a definite Never Say Die feel to my ears. I love that album, extremely under-rated imo.

  • @Terrible1 I'd say Vol 4 or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

  • @Terrible1 Well, it IS a lot of A National Acrobat in the riff, and a bit Killing Yourself To Live, so it's pure awesomeness!

  • Comment removed

  • @Terrible1 probably vol. 4 (1972)

  • @Terrible1 Sounds like a perfect song for Sabbath Bloddy Sabbath to me !

  • @Terrible1

I agree with you. This song contains that Sabbath feel in the riff. When are we going to have an album by the original line-up?

  • @Terrible1 not the first album that comes to most peoples minds, but probably Technical Ecstasy seems the best fit lol.

  • @Terrible1 This fits Sabbath Bloody Sabbath IMHO

  • @scotteee333 noob are yu fucking?? this istsabbath blody sbth

  • @Terrible1 I would put it on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or Sabotage.

  • @Terrible1 I think it would fit well on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

  • It don' t really sound the 70' s Black sabbath

  • you right! it sounds like Ozzy's solo career!!! amazing

  • Oh yea and I agree with what ur all saying about Ozzys voice, he definately has lost his ability to sing certain notes, like for example, if you listen to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath on this Reunion album, they have the high notes dropped down an octave so that Ozzy can comfortably sing it. They also change key in N.I.B and any other song where Ozzy originally did highballs vocals. I was at Ozzfest in 05, and you could hear the crowd quiten when Ozzy sang off key, it was actually quite awkward.

  • but cmon guys theres nothing like the original sabbath albums

  • Selling my soul to Black Sabbath !

  • Born again is right up there with all the Ozzy/Dio classics.

  • Disturbed soul!

  • This is an amazing song

  • Without Sabbath there would be no metal, there wouldn't even be any garbage like Slipknot,Korn or Manson. So even the posers gotta pay respect.

  • that is true

  • sabbath should have started up again right here...

  • they are the fucking kings man

  • @cartmanxrocks1 many look at them and consider them the fore fathers of metal.... I tend to easily agree.

  • black sabbath not only founded METAL, but they truely are its masters. THEY ARE METAL, everyone else is just along for the ride.

  • sabbath is truly the best metal band ever and if u dont agree to bad

  • Damn, when I hear this it just reminds me that they're not touring. They shouldn't just tour they should release a new album with the original lineup. I mean this is almost better than iron man.

  • this shows that they could make another sabatoge

  • Ozzy the addict or Dio the wizard.........i enjoy them both. 2 faces of sabbath...this songs great

  • sept ozzy's much better than dio

  • At what? I like Ozzy for his work in Sabbath but he's pretty much hosed now. He's become a cheer leader on stage. Mean while, Dio still possesses great showmanship and singing ability.

  • Yes, but Dio's work on Sabbath was making it like any other band in the 80's. That's not Black Sabbath, it's Heaven and Hell.

  • Listen to the song "Computer God" and compare that to any other band from the 80's.

  • Considering that Computer God was recorded in '92, I don't think it counts as an 80's song.

Personally I think the Tony Martin albums sound closer to the typical 80's music than the Dio albums, using a lot more synth and thematics. And Dio's solo band was a lot closer than either, which was way too pop-ish.

  • It is Black Sabbath. Tony even said it himself, "What ever it is we do, it is Sabbath." Tony Iommi is Sabbath, not Ozzy. People need to understand that he kept the band alive in the 80's and 90's. The quality of the work, however is a debate in and of itself.

  • He said so, but it's clear that only the name remainded. It would have been a better idea to call it Heaven and Hell.

  • If this were football, Iommi would be the MVP since no one else can play like him. But it's not football, it's music. Ozzy was great in Sabbath but he held them back during the Never Say Die era. Kind of like now how Ozzy wants/can only sing the same 8 songs over and over with false promises of a new album. So, Tony and Geezer went to Dio to see if they can be productive and we have an album on the way in several months in 2 years time.

  • The original lineup is special without a doubt. It has a lot of great stuff, but so do the other lineups, especially the Dio lineup in my opinion.

  • Do you even know what the word Sabbath mean?

  • In terms of religion, it's widely known as a day of rest. Happy to help.

  • Aguirre: If you're trying to say Ozzy or Sabbath should repent, don't bother. They've been through that speech many times over throughout their career(s), and, as they so elegantly put it in Under the Sun on Vol.4:

"I don't want no Jesus freak to tell me what it's all about."

And no, they are not really demonic. The whole association of Sabbath with Satan is because their first record company took their debut album and made it Satanic-looking. They had nothing to do with it.

  • What about :

"They should realize before they criticize

that God is the only way to love"

  • Driving a band's namesake into the mud does not equal keeping it alive.

  • Have you even listened to H&H, Mob Rules, or Dehumanizer? Funny how Ozzy purists always slam those + the other Sabbath albums post 1980, but only listen to the Paranoid album or their greatist hits boxset. Ozzy was a waste of time by 77 and continued to be a waste from 1999-06. If you're going to accuse anyone of dragging a namesake in the mud, it should be Ozzy since he and $haron are hellbent on making Sabbath a nostalgia act rather than a working band.

  • Yes, I love Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules, and Dehumanizer. Can you really tell me that Born Again, Seventh Star, The Eternal Idol, Cross Purposes and Forbidden aren't utter shit?

  • I thought Seventh Star was good, although it's not in my top 5. The other albums I like maybe 2-3 songs off each tops. I mistook you for an Ozzy purist, my apologies. Forbidden was garbage though.

  • No problem. I'm definitely not an Ozzy-Sabbath purist.

  • Lol, I would say I probably am an "Ozzy-Sabbath purist". I used to HATE Ronnie James Dio because he brought that awful 80s cheesey heavy metal vocal to Sabbath that just sounded corny. But I don't mind him so much now. Not really a fan of any Sabbath post-Ozzy. They shouldn't have carried on calling themselves Black Sabbath! You can see why Ozzy is suing!! The "true" Black Sabbath is the original incarnation of the 4 members. I guess its all about band chemistry.

  • Born Again was ok, Seventh Star was actually good, Eternal Idol and Cross Purposes together have like...one full album of good songs probably, Cross Purposes had its moments, and yes Forbidden was HORRIBLE.

  • Im not an ozzy purist and heaven and hell kicked ass. One of the best Sabbath records ever. but Mob rules just didn't work for me, that album is just so boring and dehumanixer sucked ass. The only tracks listenable on that one is Computer god (which gets old very fast btw) and I

  • how dare you you S.O.B Ozzy is still rockn, check out his latest albums

  • I have. Black Rain was as good as the production on said album. What I mean is that it wasn't good. I may be biased towards his solo career as I've never really been a fan except for a few songs. Ozzy as a vocalist used to be good, but ever since the new millennium his voice has declining rapidly.

  • tis the curse of old age.... god, what happens when he dies? Thats a day Im not looking forward to =*(

  • @Stingrayhammer95TOCA , It's from all the intense screaming over the years.

  • anybody wants to buy my soul?????

I love this song... hail ozzy!!!

  • let me ask something...

currently Ozzy is the vocalist of Sabbath but because he was about to tour alone Dio replaced him to tour with Sabbath??

  • No Dio, Tony, Geezer, Vinny Appice from the old Heaven and Hell lineup wanted to do a reunion tour so the did. Ozzy just released a solo album last year so it works out.

  • I got so fuckin' surprised when I bought the Black Sabbath "Reunion" album; it featured two new studio recordings! "Selling My Soul" and "Psycho Man"! "Selling My Soul" is the best! Delicious solo, and a powerful melody!

Great song! Long live Black Sabbath! \m/

  • Blessed or damned, Selling my soul, the lyrics say it all \m/

Long live the Masters Of Reality, Black Sabbath

    Rock on !!!

  • Cheers mate for uploading this! I've been lookin' for ages! I LOVE THIS SONG! LONG LIVE OZZY!!!
