Cuz the cities have to propose to the olympic comittee why their city is best for the event, which includes alot of info related to infrastructures, and many other things. pretty much, thought it just comes down to the voters at the end. pretty huge deal, tho, cuz it's such a huge international event.

I've been to Rio on several ocassions and believe me, they have the largest favelas(ghettos) in the world. You will see them on your way to copacabana beach from the airport so I don't think crime was a factor in the olympic committee's decison. Maybe it was time to share the wealth of hosting the olympics games with countries who has traditionally been left out. Sign of the times...we just elected a president who has the race of people who has traditionally been left out. God bless America!!

But i was EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE when my fam would drive me thru the projects! diff relatives make jokes OR tell stories like how if u park in a bad area u gotta pay Street Taxes. With Rio getting the olympics in 2016, every continent has been awarded a olympic bid except for Africa and Antarctica. We all know that Antarctica will never get a bid because its too cold and plus they have no permanent residents. Cape Town, South Africa has just announced that they will bid for the 2020 olympics. Maybe the olympic committee will award the 2020 games to Cape Town. These games should represent all of the people and not just the rich ones. Good Luck Cape Town!!!

I disagree with Makael regarding Chicago losing the Olympic Bid. If things are bad in a city you dont run away from them, you try to make it positive. If you want to get kids off of the streets, you give them jobs to go too. You give them responsibilities. Chicago is like any other huge city in this world. The city that was chosen, Rio, has a huge record of drug and gang wars. Winning the bid would have created thousands of jobs and really been a great stepping stone for Chicago.
I am originally from Chicago and I was definately disappointed they lost the bid. It only takes me 1.5 hours to go to Chicago and would have loved to go to the olympics. I do understand Makael's point though. Folks think it is too dangerous there. It is in many ways but there would have been increased security. Chicago failed for a few reasons:
1. The city wanted to host the Olympiads according to the city's own contract; the IOC doesn't like it (reason why Chicago was the first city discarded among the 4 finalist);
2. Chicago wanted to build a temporary infrastructure for the Games, and the IOC doesn't like it either; they like to leave a positive impression on a host city, which Rio de Janeiro embraced. Brazil is investing over 30 billion dollars in the city of Rio helping out in its infrastructure.

but to answer the question of how the cities are chosen, mpretty much it comes down to a vote of all these really important ppl.
Its a HUGE deal, actually. Cuz the cities have to propose to the olympic comittee why their city is best for the event, which includes alot of info related to infrastructures, and many other things. pretty much, thought it just comes down to the voters at the end. pretty huge deal, tho, cuz it's such a huge international event.

I've been to Rio on several ocassions and believe me, they have the largest favelas(ghettos) in the world. You will see them on your way to copacabana beach from the airport so I don't think crime was a factor in the olympic committee's decison. Maybe it was time to share the wealth of hosting the olympics games with countries who has traditionally been left out. Sign of the times...we just elected a president who has the race of people who has traditionally been left out. God bless America!!

I was in chi-town for almost a month, & the tourist areas are awesome (downtown,lake MI etc). But i was EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE when my fam would drive me thru the projects! diff relatives make jokes OR tell stories like how if u park in a bad area u gotta pay Street Taxes. With all the stories (n my cuz actually Like chillin in the hood- God knows why) of CORZ i wouldnt wanna drive for MILES n MILES in these areas in the day OR night. ive lived in many cities, Chi's Projects r on a Diff LEVEL!!

With Rio getting the olympics in 2016, every continent has been awarded a olympic bid except for Africa and Antarctica. We all know that Antarctica will never get a bid because its too cold and plus they have no permanent residents. Cape Town, South Africa has just announced that they will bid for the 2020 olympics. Maybe the olympic committee will award the 2020 games to Cape Town. These games should represent all of the people and not just the rich ones. Good Luck Cape Town!!!

Makel & Kevin, I always look forward to watching your videos. Kevin your show is very interesting when you're solo but it's magic when both you and Makel record videos. Maybe if you feel it's too quiet, then try some background music? Either way, I'm a huge fan of the skorpion show! And good look on showing the times of your topics. God bless.

Still a great video guys regardless of the lack of noise and interruptions from your family lol :), I know Makael says it's too quiet but maybe you all should turn the tv on while recording so that it won't be so quiet. You guys can still get your creative energy juices flowing and Makael won't think it's so quiet.

OMG...It is true what Makael said. But it is sad that these kids. I live in Gary and we use to be callled the Murder capital of the World. Hell, we are like" Damn, what is going on in the CHI!!" I feel like Mykael too about O on CB. So true. Preach Mykael look like a hood unibomber.

i agree with makael about chi town cleaning up their city before trying to host something. i will watch the monique show to check it out. alicia was wrong for getting herself in this situation. but she is the famous one in the group so she stands out but she still wrong. she should have waited till he got his shit taken care of. whether it was him or any other married man

I agree Makael about the Olympics being in Chicago.. I was wondering the same-how can you even think about trying to host the olympics when you should be worrying about cleaning up the streets..at making an effort to make things better

loved the video, made me laugh and think at the same time. As far as Kanye West and Lady Gaga, I mean I wouldn't see either of them in concert. I like Kanye West alot, even after the Taylor Swift thing, but I don't feel he could entertain me in a live concert. Lady Gaga, eh....I don't know about her, her gimic seems like a big circus show and if I want to see a circus I will go to Las Vegas.

I disagree with Makael regarding Chicago losing the Olympic Bid. If things are bad in a city you dont run away from them, you try to make it positive. If you want to get kids off of the streets, you give them jobs to go too. You give them responsibilities. Chicago is like any other huge city in this world. The city that was chosen, Rio, has a huge record of drug and gang wars. Winning the bid would have created thousands of jobs and really been a great stepping stone for Chicago.

I am originally from Chicago and I was definately disappointed they lost the bid. It only takes me 1.5 hours to go to Chicago and would have loved to go to the olympics. I do understand Makael's point though. Folks think it is too dangerous there. It is in many ways but there would have been increased security. China did not have problems but remember they are communist. you get arrested for anything.

l0l I live in NC but Jo lives in SC and goes to school there.. He came to NC to get his hair re did and just stopped by my house to hang out.. And we both live near the state line so it's not that far.
