@9ssyed That was what caused Anna Lee to die. I think that was why John Ingle left General Hospital because of the controversial termination of Anna Lee. Plus a lot of other people complained. Anna was 90 when she got terminated and then passed away in 2004. Still a hot subject to talk about to this day.

I unfortunately never got to see the magic of Lila Q. But when I heard of the death of the actress and the subsequent tribute, I watched and cried. I found out later that the actress was in one of my favorite movies, "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane"
Anna Lee was a beautiful and talented woman. She didn't seem to age as she was as beautiful in How Green was my Valley as she was in General Hospital. She was so loved that Maureen O'Hara even named her only child after her. R.I.P Anna xx
Yeah, as well as her firing from GH was a complete and total shock to me, what's worse is that nobody had the heart to tell Anna Lee, she passed away on May 14, 2004 from Pneumonia.
I can't tell you how much I miss Anna Lee and Lila Quartermaine. GH's heart and sould left with this woman. She was a true treasure and it still hurts to know I won't be seeing her smile on my screen anymore.
They actually fired her a year before Anna Lee died, that's messed up.

Who played Edward Quartermaine, and then John Ingle assumed the role, I know the actor retired in 1993 and died in 2000.

David Lewis (1916-2000) was the original Edward Quartermaine. John Ingle began playing him in 1993.

We lost so many "Grande Dame" in soaps such as Anna Lee, Ruth Warrick, Darlene Conley. They will always be in our hearts.
