  • Hi Betty, could you tell me how many grams or ounces of butter equals to your 1/2 cup, at least approximately? Thank you very much :) The cake looks so good, definately gonna bake it :3

  • @Padzimierz It's 1/2 cup of buttermilk, not butter, which equals 4 fluid ounces or 225ml.

This recipe calls for two tablespoons of butter which is 28 grams.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen I was asking for the stick of butter, which one is supposed to add to all dry ingredients after the cocoa and water mixture. Sorry for bothering you :)

  • @Padzimierz 1 stick of butter is 1/4 of a pound, so that's 4 ounces.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Thank you so much, Betty :) Now I can go to kitchen and begin to bake.

  • , my family doesn't really use butter milk and rarely when i cook i need it so i usally buy a big carton and the rest usually spoils so do you know a place where i can get that buttermilk dehydrated mixture from? Thanks :)

  • @XxBARRY3000xX I get the dehydrated buttermilk from my supermarket (Kroger), but another good substitute for buttermilk is to add 1 tablespoon lemon juice or 12 tablespoon white vinegar to 1 cup of milk and use that in place of 1 cup buttermilk.

    --Betty :)

  • betty, what is butter milk? we dont have that in uruguay, what could i use instead of it? love you!

  • @uru877 Buttermilk is like a sour milk. You may add 1 tablespoon lemon juice or white vinegar to 1 cup milk to use in the place of 1 cup buttermilk.

    --Betty :)

  • I love your Chocolate Cake!!!!! Yummy!!!!

  • Hi betty! Just want to thank you a lot for sharing your recipes. I made this chocolate cake and i received praises from them. At first I thought it would not turn out fine because i cooked the batter one at a time. They're asking me to do this again this christmas. :)

  • is salted butter and normal butter the same??

  • @therealwizards Yes, except for the salt.

    --Betty :)

  • @therealwizards no salted butter has salt in it. "normal butter" doesn't

  • Hi betty! I just want to ask if it's fine to cook the batter one at a time because i have a small oven and fits only one baking pan. Thanks! I enjoyed watching your videos.

  • @maiyoc34 Yes, that is fine.

    --Betty :)

  • Thank u!! :)

  • i watched 2 min of this video and subscribed. :)

  • I almost ate my brand new iPod touch while watching this! Again-thankyou

  • Thank you!

  • Beautiful cake! I need to go back and watch it again to write down the recipe. Other than it being so gorgeous, was it a "special" cake because your grandson loves it? I was wondering if there was a story behind it. :)

I'm looking forward to watching your other videos!

  • @WildhavenSoap No, there's no story behind it--Carter loves anything festive, even a cake! If you click "show more" you will see the entire recipe for the cake. The two icings are uploaded separately, but have their entire recipes with them.

    --Betty :)

  • Yammy cool and sweet

  • Hi Betty, what kind of chocolate icing did you use for this cake? I know you have a number of chocolate frosting videos, but I want to know which one you used specifically. Was it the all-purpose chocolate frosting?

Great video by the way! Love your uploads

    xx

  • @JaWinzie Yes, you're right--it is the all-purpose chocolate frosting.

    --Betty :)

  • Nice it looks dlicious betty Shahzadkayani74,s channel's

  • @shahzadkayani74 Thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • When the cameras stopped rolling, Carter grabbed up that cake with his hands and inhaled it. He was just being polite on camera. hehehee. We know he has manners, that's great. I would have scoffed that cake down in 2 sec's flat.

  • Why did I torture myself by watching this video :;( Waaah

  • Wow maybe you should be on the cooking show and can you make a video that is all kind of flaver of frosting??

  • @CuteBunnyKiss I have several types of frosting in bettyskitchen: Basic Chocolate, Never Fail, Penuche, Brown Sugar Cocoa. Rich Vanilla, Cream Cheese, Buttercream, Spice, Lemon Glaze, whipped topping, and others. Just search in bettyskitchen, and you will find a lot of options.

    --Betty :)

  • It's Have Pineapple, Ham, Pepperoni And Ive Been Looking For A Video And Thought That You Knew

  • Do You Know How To Make Hawaiian Pizza

  • @TheFamousShortie I am not familiar with Hawaiian Pizza. I will check on it!

    --Betty :)

  • Omg you made me very hungry;S lol

  • I THINK ALL LIKE IT

  • How Long Do We Wait To Frost The Cake.?

  • @TheFamousShortie The cake needs to cool down to room temperature. You may use the refrigerator to speed up the process.

    --Betty :)

  • What Is The Subsitude For Buttermilk.?

  • @TheFamousShortie Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice to 1 cup of milk and this can be substituted for 1 cup buttermilk.

    --Betty :)

  • The kidd :p Cutee ^.^

  • @AndTheDeathlyHallows Thanks! He was excited about the cake!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Welcome :) Looks as if he really is. If I were there, I would NEVER leave the kitchen :p

  • Hi Betty, I have that same buttermilk but it tells me to use water, is that fine?

  • @angeliquesteph Yes, water is fine!

    --Betty :)

  • Could We Do The White Icing A Day Before The Cake It's Cause My Dad Birthday Is Coming Up And Well Like I'm 12 Years Old I Have School, Homework, And I Want To Do The Cake With-Out My Dad Knowing When He Comes Home And I Don't If It Takes Alot Of Time To Do All 2 Icing & Cake Mix

  • @TheFamousShortie You may do the white icing the day before, if you go ahead and spread it on the cake at that time. If you just leave it in a bowl, it will harden, and you won't be able to spread it.

    --Betty :)

  • could we put fondant on top of the cake

  • @DjKrAzYnEsS Yes, fondant over the white no-fail icing would be gorgeous and taste great!

    --Betty :)

  • Could I Find The Chocolate Frosting In Your Videos.?

  • @TheFamousShortie It's called Rich Chocolate Frosting, and you will find it in bettyskitchen at this link:

    youtube.com/watch?v=DTRUq00uLHc

    I hope you enjoy it!

    --Betty :)

  • Could I Find The Chocolate Frosting In Your Videos.?

  • But Wait Were Did You Get The 2 Frosting Did You Buy Them In The Store If So What Are The Name Or Its HomeMade

  • @TheFamousShortie They are homemade. The white Icing is NO-Fail Icing, and the other is Rich Chocolate Frosting. (However, you may buy a white and a chocolate frosting to have the same effect.)

    --Betty :)

  • I'm gonna try this recipe today!! What do you think of putting chocolate ganache on it?

  • @msjones116 Chocolate ganache would be wonderful--even better than my Basic Chocolate Frosting!

    --Betty :)

  • Delicious! Where do you get this cake!

  • I made this in school and it turned out perfect ! I got an A thanks to you Betty x -hugs-

    --Emma (: x

  • @shuffilingurl Hi Emma! That's wonderful! Thanks for letting me know!

    --Betty :)

  • These look sooo good! You should do a turorial on Baked Alaska.

  • @MissStalked I plan to do that--it will be awhile before I get to it.

    --Betty :)

  • hello i would like to commend you on your preserntation of this bake session, you were very articulate thank you. you were mindful of the fine details thank you

  • @Reimana1 You are very welcome! I am delighted that you liked the video!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen if I want to make chocolate cupcakes with this do I half the recipe?? (Please answer back ASAP)

  • @Heyzitzaperson It depends on how many cupcakes you want. I would make the whole recipe and bake them all. If you have facilities for freezing leftovers, that would be great!

    --Betty :)

  • Hi Betty! I tried this recipe but it turned out like garbage.I don't know what I did wrong! It came out tarty like, thin and dry.I had to throw it away cause it was so gross! :( I was disappointed cause I wasted so many ingredients.Maybe I overmixed? But what should i do or not do next time? Thanks

  • @CutePrincess05 It is hard to say what went wrong, with me not being there while you made the cake. The recipe should result in the cake that you saw in the video. If at any step yours looks different, it could be that something was left out or too much was put in. It could have been over-mixed, but the main thing is just to follow each step exactly, and the cake should come out great! Thanks for trying, and I hope it comes out better next time! Take care,

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen thanks all your advices help a lot!!!

  • @Heyzitzaperson You are very welcome!

    --Betty :)

  • What do we use if we only have all purpose

    flour???

  • @Heyzitzaperson Use all purpose flour. For each cup of all purpose flour, add 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

    --Betty :)

  • What do we use if we have no self rising flour

  • @Heyzitzaperson Use all purpose flour. For each cup of all purpose flour, add 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

    --Betty :)

  • @ShushLorraine Thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • @ShushLorraine Thanks!

    --Bettty :)

  • betty can I make it 2 tiers instead of 3?

  • @laurysocheerful Yes, they will be thick, so make sure the pans are large enough. (I don't think this will be a problem, because my pans were only about half-full of batter.) Also, you will have to cook the layers a little longer. I hope you enjoy the cake!

    --Betty :)

  • @xxofalloutgirlxxo This cake has a lot of steps, but it is very good. An easier cake might be Basic Yellow Cake, paired with Rich Vanilla Frosting.

    --Betty :)

  • Comment removed

  • @xxofalloutgirlxxo Yes, you may use vanilla store bought icing for between the layers, and you can use chocolate for the outside--double chocolate, if you like!

    --Betty :)

  • @JuiceMakesMeCrazy I love the mixer! I hope you enjoy the cake!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen rally im no allowed to eat sweet wel not that much but i really want to make this cake i want to make cake but it always come out wrong i always have to buy cake mix do u know any recipie that is cupcakes or cake hat has bleached flour.

  • @mhuertazayas I have posted a Basic Yellow Cake that can be made with bleached flour. You can also make it into cupcakes.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen is it your 1000 video cake because the recipie calls for all porpose flour.

  • @mhuertazayas Yes, but you may substitute the type of flour to meet your needs.

    --Betty :)

  • i think you are really good at everything

  • @theresalovespink Thanks for your sweet comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Doesn't the wax melt in the oven?

  • @cancereaterhaho No, not at all. You may use parchment paper, if you prefer.

    --Betty :)

  • is there a smaller recipe i dont need that much

  • @leannecamille21 Just divide the amount of each ingredient by 2 for 1/2 of the amount.

    --Betty :)

  • do you have to use 3 pans because i dont have that many

  • @leannecamille21 I just baked this in a rectangular baking dish. You will need 3 pans for a layer cake. You may bake 2, and after they have cooled, bake the third layer. It's some trouble, and is not ideal, but it will work.

    --Betty :)

  • Wow this looks amazing. I'm going to try making this. I'm not much of a baker, I prefer cooking savoury foods, but I will have a go. Thank you for sharing.

  • @thelaurels13 Thanks for your lovely comment! I hope you enjoy the cake!

    --Betty :)

  • gr888, gr888....

    --Betty :)

  • LIKE if you want some choclate cake!! <3

  • @TheBiggie132 I think most people like chocolate cake! This recipe has gotten a lot of views.

    --Betty :)

  • hey betty, what is buttercream? what could i use instead of it? we dont have it here :(

  • @uru877 im sorry i mean buttermilk, not buttercream xD, what is buttermilk?

  • @uru877 A substitute for 1 cup of buttermilk can be made by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to 1 cup of milk.

    --Betty :)

  • I was planning to make this cake for my brother but my mom told me today that he's allergic to eggs! lol.

Do you have any suggestions for the frosting?

  • @LittleMisss15x The white layer is "Never Fail Frosting" and it is made of egg whites. The other frosting is "All Purpose Chocolate Frosting" and it uses Egg Beaters--you might want to use that one.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Thanks Betty! Apparently he was allergic to egg whites as a baby, but quite frankly I don't think he is anymore because he's had mayo and such..I'll make it anyway and just tell him it's his risk lol!

  • amazingly nyummmy!

  • @smileyface15ful Thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • what is the measurements for using all purpose flour?

  • @kikayghurl12 This recipe uses 2 cups self-rising flour. You may substitute 2 cups all-purpose flour plus 3 teaspoons baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt.

    --Betty :)

  • did u get the recipie in the back of the self rising bag.

  • @mhuertazayas No, I've been making this cake for 25 years or so.

    --Betty :)

  • your husband should do this into cupckaes for your birthday or anniversety.

then record this and then put the video on bettyskitchen

  • @mhuertazayas That would be nice!

    --Betty :)

  • im scared to make this cke into cupcakes evrytime i make cupcake it burns to much butter

  • @mhuertazayas This batter should make cup cakes easily.

    --Betty :)

  • can this recipie make how many cupcakes

  • @mhuertazayas You can usually get 12 per layer, so it would be approximately 36.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen how many tablespoon is 3/4 cups

  • @mhuertazayas That would be 12 tablespoons.

    --Betty :)

  • Is buttermilk milk? Or are they completely different stuff?

  • @blackuredtube You can substitute 1 cup milk plus 1 tablespoon lemon juice in place of 1 cup buttermilk.

    --Betty :)

  • True work of aart Betty!!!!i would love to have that for my birthday in a few months god that would be a tasty birthday cake for sure!

  • @Batistamaniac1 Thanks for your lovely comment! I hope you get a cake like this on your birthday!

    --Betty :)

  • Can I use his for cake pop.

  • Can I use this fir cake pop?

  • @mhuertazayas I'm not familiar with cake pop, but I'm sure this cake would work like any other cake.

    --Betty :)

  • How can I bake this 3 layer cake in 1 cake pan?

  • @gracjan20 You will need a large rectangular pan. Just butter and flour the bottom and sides of the pan, pour the batter in, and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

    --Betty :)

  • and how many inches are ur tins?

  • @jazz123237 They are 9-inch cake pans.

    --Betty :)

  • hi betty

i jst wanted to ask can i put whipping cream instead of white icing...

  • @jazz123237 You could use whipped cream or whipped topping, but it will gradually sink down into the cake and just look like white liquid. It would freeze well, so if you could serve if just when it finished thawing, it would be nice.

    --Betty :)

  • Thanks,I'm going to make brownies in about 2 weeks don't forget to watch it and subscribe.say hi to your husband and Carter.

    Thanks(:

  • @mhuertazayas Will do!

    --betty :)

  • @mhuertazayas I will probably make it for bettyskitchen, but it will be awhile.

    --Betty :)

  • Thanks for responding my question.

Can u show us how to make tinga it's a Mexican dish I'll be very happy if u please showed us you put the tinga on top of a tortilla chip then put fresh cheese on top with something that look similar to lettuce and looks like lettuce.(:

  • @mhuertazayas I'm not familiar with tinga, but I will check on it.

    --Betty :)

  • Can't wait to try this!

    What's half this recipie.

    Thanks.
