  • @jecoharman George Lucas is a genius and inspiration to all who begin to venture into the world of film making

  • i hate you george lucas you brain dead fuck

  • oh jorge if only you took your own advice

  • Well he can a ford to show off Boba fett custom at the end of his successful career.

  • Anyone want a Pizza roll?

  • Does he listen to himself?

  • Oh my fucking gosh. You all just rip on this poor man. These two clips are taken completely out of context to make it look as if he is contradicting himself. Do you honestly think that George didn't have scenes that showcased cool special effects WHILE TELLING THE STORY?! ALL the Star Wars movies do that. For fuck's sake, in Return of the Jedi he had a huge Jabba the hut made that was operated by a shitload of people and he made the almighty SARLACC PIT. Get real people. George is a genius.

  • @EdwardNygma1 George has two good hands to jerk himself off he doesn't need yours.

  • @J5MARLON Trolls be trolling. Fools be fooling. Watch what you say dirtbag.

  • @EdwardNygma1 or what George Lucas will make a special edition of me.

  • @J5MARLON Yes, and you know what? The special edition of you will actually have some class.

But really, it will catch up with you one day.

  • @EdwardNygma1

Except Return of the Jedi also had a good plot.

  • @hoho330 Return of the Jedi had the weakest plot out of all the Star Wars movies.

  • @EdwardNygma1

It was still better than anything in the prequels.

Your original post missed the point of what Lucas was saying, that a director should spend more time on the story than the special effects and how everything looks. Which evidently he did not do with the prequels.

  • @hoho330 Perhaps you didn't read my last comment correctly when I said Return Of The Jedi had the weakest story out of ALL the Star Wars films. As in, Episodes 1-5 are better than it. Even A New Hope is better than ROTJ, and A New Hope is boring, cliche, outdated, and has poor acting. So that's saying something. The prequels blow the Originals out of the water, and if someone cannot see that it because they have a sentimental attachment to it. What Lucas said back then was wrong.

  • @EdwardNygma1

    HAHAHAHA OH WOW

The Originals have their flaws, but they are a million times better than anything in the prequels.

  • @hoho330 Senitmental fool. Believe what you want. You're entitled to that; even if it is wrong.

  • @EdwardNygma1

Regardless of the original trilogies quality, the prequels are simply bad movies. Bland characters, a convoluted plot and an over reliance on special effects.

  • @hoho330 "Regardless of the Original Trilogy's known number of sentimental fans that show up at conventions and such, the prequels are still great movies. Great characters, an interesting and complex plot, and some great special effects."

There, I edited your statement for you.

  • @EdwardNygma1

The plot is stupid and simplistic as fuck, and the characters are just talking heads.

  • @hoho330 You're just in denial right now, that's the only way to put it. You're running out of things to say, so now you're just jabbing at the films and it's not making any sense. It's very complex how Anakin slowly turns to the dark side. It's way more interesting than anything the Originals had to offer. The characters were much more fleshed out. I suggest you stop ignorantly pointing out falsities in the prequels. And btw how can something be "simplistic as fuck"? Proper English yo

  • @EdwardNygma1

Anakins fall to the dark side could ahve been complex, but Lucas just turned it into:

I really love my wife, and Im having visions of her dying

Oh wait, this guy is offering me a very specific solution to my problem and keeps talking about the dark side, SOUNDS LEGIT

Wait, you dont know how to stop my wife from dying. You tricked me! Oh well, I guess ill work for you anyway.

    Anakins actions made no sense.

  • @hoho330 "Anakin's fall to the dark side could have been done poorly if it was in accords to Original Trilogy fans, but instead Lucas turned it into:

I'm having those damn visions of the future again. First it was my mother and now it's my wife. My mother's vision came true, so I want to save my wife. I am in agony...

Palpatine is telling me a solution to the problem, but it would involve using a bit of the dark side. Could it be that bad if it keeps her from dying?

    continued...

  • @hoho330 He lied to me. But it doesn't matter. The Jedi are wrong, they're ignorant and always have been. They've been holding me back. They don't want to accept that I am becoming the most powerful Jedi ever. Now with the dark side I can be even more powerful. I will work for Palpatine, and then overthrow him and Padme and I can rule the galaxy together..."

That's what you should have said. His actions made sense.

  • @EdwardNygma1

No they didn't! He should have been pissed of at Palpatine for lying to him, but he never actually acts on it. Instead he turns into Darth Vadar and thats it.

  • @hoho330 He was pissed off at Palpatine for lying to him, but there was not much he could do. You forget that he was still in training and that Palpatine could have wiped the floor with him right? He would have been killed. It's the same reason when he's in the suit he's an obedient little guard dog, because he is not strong enough to do anything. It's also why he trained an apprentice to take down the emperor for him. He hates the emperor. Seriously, look into the movie before judging.

  • @EdwardNygma1

Why does that matter? If Anakin was angry and acting irrationally it would hae made perfect sense for him to attack Palpatine.

Also EU stuff doesn't really count in dicussing the movies.

  • @hoho330 Anakin was angry, but only acted irrationally in certain situations. Examples of these situations would be his burst of anger on Padme, his fight with Obi-Wan, and his leap from the panning droid to the lava bank only to get his legs and remaining arm sliced off. Other times he was aware of what was going on, albeit he was a fool for doing what he did. Attacking Palpatine would be a rookie movie, and would be suicide. What is EU stuff?

  • @EdwardNygma1

Also the whole romantic subplot that his fall to the dark side relied on was pretty much 'TWO ATTRACTIVE PEOPLE IN EXOTIC LOCATIONS THEY MUST BE IN LOVE'

  • @hoho330 No, actually the romantic subplot was pretty much "I'm torn between the Jedi Order and this woman who I have not been able to stop thinking about since I was a child."

Again, you just try to jab at everything because you're sentimental to the originals, can't spot good acting and storytelling, and don't understand these movies.

  • @EdwardNygma1

I didnt get that from the movie. The dialogue between them felt forced and awkward, and frankly not at all like natural conversation. As said in the RedLetterMedia review, Lucas clearly thinks that good romance is sweeping gestures and romantic verse rather than two people actually connecting in anyway.

Also Natalie Portman sucks and almost ruined Thor for me.

  • @hoho330 RedLetterMedia is not a good source of information. No wonder you have these foolish opinions; you're just listening to everything he says. Natalie Portman is an amazing actor and Thor is a shit movie anyways.

  • @EdwardNygma1

Its a perfectly valid source of opinion and comment.

Also fuck you Thor was awesome.

  • @hoho330 What?

And No, it was shit. That would showcase your bad taste in movies.

  • @EdwardNygma1

Never said it was a brilliant movie, and anyway I like alot of movies so you cant really judge me based on one movie.

  • @hoho330 You said it was awesome, so now you're contradicting yourself. I can judge you based on one movie, but it's a good thing I have your sentimental worship of the Original Trilogy to further my judgement on your bad taste in film. Usually when a person thinks a movie like Thor is awesome, that dictates what they think of other movies.

  • @EdwardNygma1

Actually I want to hear you explain how it was complex. Please enlighten me.

  • @hoho330 I've already given quite a bit of info as to how it is complex. But if I were to explain it, it would take an essay for me to explain the complexities within his fall to the dark side. There were so many things that attributed to it, Lucas carried it out in a wonderful way.

  • @EdwardNygma1

I bet you thought Avatar was a really clever movie as well.

  • @hoho330 You know, it used to be my favorite movie up until about a month ago when it donned on me that all the characters are mostly naked. That automatically makes it bad. It was incredible on a visual level though, no doubt about it in 3D. And the story of the main character was interesting. That's a fault on my part, I only saw it once and made it my favorite because I wouldn't watch it again unless it was 3D. My favorite movie of all time though now is Batman Begins.

  • George Lucas is one of the great lost filmmakers. If he continued along the road he paved with THX 1138, American Graffiti, and Star Wars then he could've had ongoing artistic success as Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg have enjoyed. The guy is a great visionary, but he's now focused just on the visuals.

  • @MikeDiastavrone3 Yep, pretty much. Star Wars took over his life.

  • He rid himself of the archetypal narrative structure underlying the plot and sacrificed the metaphysical depths of the story for the sake of making some extra dollars. The new movies simply lack the heart of human labor and devotion, something machines and simple striving for success will never accomplish. (Isn't it ironic that I write this about the most successful science fiction movies of all times, which draw so much of their fascination from their occupation with futuristic machinery?)

  • George's new Principles of film-making: Bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips, and bacon strips......
  • there's nothing left to say... the clip unfortunately speaks for itself...

  • I think you are all nuts!! All 6 films makeup one complete story, and that story is awesome!! You all are just jealous that George Lucas is so rich and famous.

  • Fat fuck!

  • lol would be great if it cut to the "jar jar is the key to all this" clip

  • Big deal. They're just movies. You can enjoy them or not. But to the extreme level of insanity for which people have taken them is hilarious. Get a life.

  • @acrovader Says the guy who had to search to find find a video on this subject, just so he could tell everyone else to get a life.

    Troll is obvious.

  • @trlkly And how do u know he searched it? He could have found it in the suggestions bin? Or are u a stalker?

  • @Trekiefreak777 I didn't. But the fact that he didn't defend himself is a pretty good indicator that I was right.

And his argument is rather stupid, like something a troll would write. The ENTIRE POINT of this video is that Lucas has changed and is no longer the good guy who created those classic films. And anyways, it's Lucas himself condemning what he's become.

  • @trlkly Buddy, you do realize that there are SOME people who don't reply, or even read replies, which could be the reason why he didn't defend himself.

And George is STILL a great movie maker with imagination, which people will think is false, only because they are blinded by bias. And I do see a difference between the two things George talked about. In the first clip, he talks about wasting hours on a visual that doesn't explain a character, or alter the plot. In this scene, it(Cont)

  • @Trekiefreak777 The man has great imagination. Problem is he is focusing part of it in the wrong area.

If he didn't have imagination, the prequels wouldn't look so breath taking. But he could focus a little more on how he executes the characterization of his characters, which is part of the charm of the OT.

But I agree, the Jango clip was the wrong choice to try to make a point. He explains why they bothered with it, and it's a decent explanation.

  • @KameinuFK Actually, he has himself said that he does these prequels only for fun. He still has that imagination, and it will soon come forth again after Red Tails.

  • @Trekiefreak777 If it was for fun he'd put more effort into it. I've seen alot of projects made by people for fun, in their spare time, that have better quality than the prequels in the context of what they're supposed to be.

He has ALOT of imagination, that cannot be denied. But how one sees things in their heads doesn't always turn out in reality as one imagined them.

  • @trlkly (Prev) explains that Jango is a skilled Bounty Hunter who can't be easily dealt with. Even when I was a kid, i knew that.

  • And I mean, George Lucas isn't the only artist who was progressive in his early days only to become more mainstream, boring, predictable or just money-grubbing. Too bad that he doesn't stop working, he could afford it after all the cash he made (which he deserves for all the great work he did!).

  • no, he was right in the beginning. he told the story, and it was good, but people still screamed for more. the first 3 movies are more like a couple paragraphs of backstory. i believe all he really wanted to do was show off some special effects from his company.

yes, i said a couple of paragraphs. episodes 1,2, & 3 felt "forced" to me (pun intended).

  • What happened to the brilliant young filmmaker?

  • @trustfund82 he got rich haha

  • Comment removed

  • @trustfund82

    Jar Jar Binks happened.

  • People need to realize that movies were filmed different after 22years! You think it's gonna be the some in 22 years from now? They aren't even the same from 3 years ago. 3D ANYONE? also there are the new Red cameras and film rate is being changed to 60fps. Losers know nothing about filming.

  • @MrBrownstone8881 you know nothing of good movies. you can film a movie the same way nowadays you did 20-30-40-50 years ago. some of the best movies of all time were produced without CGI or with so limited CGI that it was basicly some wireframe. and it would STILL look great today. but you probably enjoyed the prequel trilogy too...

  • @chockn its what you don't see that defines a movie, once they released the prequels star wars lost some of its magic. but hey, its a machine now. where is the new skywalker?

  • "You either die a doe, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." :P

  • change of heart ~ lucas was rite though :)

  • I don't see the contradiction

  • LMAO I shit myself this is fuckin ironic XD

  • My , how the mighty fall.

  • that pretty much sums it up

  • Episode II was the best of the prequels. Aside from the dialogue it had a very interesting story.

  • @Casarzino I'm not too sure about that, I'd say that II was the one that I enjoyed the least tbh, but that's just me

  • @Casarzino Episode II is the worst SW film by a mile!

  • @KiopGenJin No way man. Episode II sucked, but at the very least the Yoda fight (as dumb as it was), Jango Fett, and Count Dooku made it watchable. There is absolutely NOTHING redeeming about Episode 1 besides Darth Maul so Episode I was the worst SW film by lightyears

  • @TheInstantClassic1 Well a lot of people are split on which in is worse. I would say E2. It's an empty shell. E1 at least still had the awe, the CGI looked better, there was more models, there was some spirituality/philosophy. E2, there was nothing, absolutely nothing, just a waste of everyone's time.

  • Episode 6 was excellent and I don't want people comparing it to the Prequels.

  • Ooooooohh!

  • #1 Get the loan.

    #2 Get the loan.

    #3 Get the loan!

  • That's what money does to your story over the years

  • ...a movie where I can see a REAL battle, with the terrible condition of a battle, with destructors automatic machines againt another destructor machines, againt organic beings, died and kill, with enormous explosions, atomic perhaps, or electromagnetic pulses, like will be a futuristic and real battle, like Terminator future scenes,or like Saving private Ryan, with a political scenario of power and corruption like the real life is...hopefully in some years this will be, without George Lucas...

  • ...order still in ignorance, in weakness ? so, what is the force? when Obi Wan died, he dissapear, go to the Light, when Qi Jong Jinn died, was burn? he was not a Jedi? he dont go to Light? heheh C'mon, full of mistakes, any Sith can kill a jedi, easily, hey Lucas, make it Jedis more powerful, at less to dont look like an idiot, I like than Star Wars was filmed again, with a social-political-war focus, a movie than spectator public cry, without fucking jokes, without fucking and stupid characters

  • ...the other films, in 6 film another Death Star, another full attack, a Mafia Chief with a estupid clowns like servants, little teddy bears, etc, and the next trilogy was worst, an absoluty non-sense history, jedis without power, cheating, every time jedis are in serious problems, dont have paranormal powers, dont see future, easily defeated by anybody with shoots or in a dog-fight, so WTF is a jedi? less than a samurai? less than a shaolin monk?, dudes, thousand years of evolution, and Jedi...

  • the awful thuth is than G. Lucas chet over his own creation, thats is all,he start with a solid history 30 years ago,and finish with 4 stupid-children-film,from episode 6 to 3,full of funny situations, jokes, terribles characters, more stupid history, all kind of ridiculous concepts an sciences mistakes, and a endless list, what the F...do this guy?simple, ruined the history for money, after all, what want the guy with money? more money...all the drama and work of the 2 first movies was lost with...

  • Perhaps lucasfilm ltd has too many 'yes men' & not enough

writers who proof script drafts. Perfect example of too much

    money losing the plot.

  • I remember trying to defend the Phantom Menace because I wanted it to be good so bad that I couldn't accept the fact that it was just a terrible incomprehensible movie. I use to argue the JarJar Binks was an acheivment in digital fx and that people would grow to like him over time etc. But the plot never really made sense the characters were souless and dull when it finally came out on DVD I couldn't sit through it.

  • @Punchkicker88 I obiously prefer the orgianal star wars films but the phantom menace was by far the best new one and i highly enjoyed, and you can't deny that Darth maul is a badass.

  • @AngryOrso I personally hated the Phantom Menace. Introduction to Jar Jar and Midichlorians (which took out the entire mystery of the force) was possibly the worst thing and Anakin came out as a whinny little child. Darth Maul however was great and it was sad that he just killed him off like that.

  • Dear Mr. Lucas, bigger and more does not equal good or better!

  • @xlrwolf10: It'S not their fault that the scripts are crappy and that Lucas' focuses more on the effects than on the story. They just could've said: No, thank you. But I guess, when someone gives you an enormous amount of money you'll lose the shame to mess up the most extraordinary series of movies ever made.

  • What Lucas and Spielberg knew at the time is that it's the story and the characters, that drives a movie, and not the effects. The old Star Wars movies had cool characters you could identify with, you held your breath because you were on the side of Leia, Han Solo and Luke, you wanted to be one of them. Who wants to be Anakin Hayden Christensen or Obi Ewan McGregor? They are too weak or too dislikable in order to make you want to be like them. Even the new Yoda, give me a break!

  • @russkibog81 its not the actors faults its george and the ppl who were to scared to say "this is a bad idea" to him to blame

  • @russkibog81 I fully agree, although I do think that Ewan McGregor made a good Obi Wan...or could have been, had the script not been so weak. He had the charisma to pull it off, but there simply wasn't nearly enough character development in the script of the new episodes. Every character was bland, there was too much silly slapstick, the drama was poor...the whole thing was just poorly written from beginning to end. Lucas wanted to revive the SW craze I assume, but I think the end result...

  • @peri2502 (cont.) was mediocre at best and most of the old fan base decided to do what I did ever since the remastered editions came out: pretend it never happened.

  • @russkibog81 That new Yoda was hot stuff. ;)

  • @russkibog81 I seriously wish people would shut the fuck up on this issue. People are always making some bitch or moan about the prequels, about the same things and not actually coming to their own opinions. Yes the originals are superior, but the only faults were the casting of Anakin and the story of Padme/Anakin rather than him believing that the Jedi were betraying him.

Seriously? The original Yoda was a boring character that said obscure comments, at least the new one has proper sentences.

  • @17thSHIT Everybody's free to have their opinion, right? So what's the point in being the troll around here? The original Yoda was very old, had been living alone for quite a while, so it's quite consistent that he's gone a bit crazy and has this spooky touch. The original Yoda was far from being a flat and boring character, he's quite multifaceted! In the new movies here's so much wrong, far fetched or outright unbelievable about the character's and their motivivation, that I won't even begin

  • @17thSHIT to bitch about the lousyness of CGI effects.

  • @russkibog81 You mean to bitch about the so-called "lousyness" of CGI that they made up, because they are feeling nostalgic.

  • @russkibog81 NERD RAGE!!!

  • look at all these crappy comments, the man creates star wars and indiana jones and gives you a kick ass childhood and this is how you respond back?

99 percent of you will never achieve what he has

  • @playmobilhero So true.

  • @playmobilhero more than 99%

  • Wow irony thy name is 20 years. I hope the phantom editor reads this, thanks man your edits were an inspiration.

  • what the fuck was the point of this video?

  • I MISS the Lucas who let Greedo shoot first.

  • Old Type Camera's Were Amazingly Better.

  • he owned himself

  • I don`t see anything wrong with him saying "I wanted to show off jangos suit" I think its okay that he...... What am I saying?

  • what's gotten into this Lucas fucker, he makes shitty sequels on purpose just to piss people off

  • @poisionarrowclean ofcourse, that's why he makes films - you're right.. he doesnt have anything better to do than throw away 500 million on a movie, spend 3 years on it, to piss people off(!)

  • @hcvang exactly, though he obviously only cares for the money, he earns more than those 500 million on this piece of shit. if you watch the new indy and the new star wars you can't fucking imagine Lucas spending 3 years on such worthless pictures

  • @poisionarrowclean oh god, give me strength(!)

  • @hcvang hey that's what I said when I saw Attack of the clones, I bet there's star wars fans out there who would write a better script than retarded Lucas and his CGI bullshit

  • @poisionarrowclean Such unbridled jealousy... so unbecoming.

  • @hcvang yeah that's correct Lucas is in fact extremely jealous of other filmmakers like Ridley Scott, have you watched plinketts reviews he explain Lucas obviously only set out to show the world how his computers are better than Scotts on Titanic cuz it were all about earning more cash than Titanic but then Scott returned with Avatar I bet Lucas lies sleepness at nights of jealousy unable to come up with a new shit movie cuz he sucks at writing a good story

  • @poisionarrowclean I'm not even gonna tell you what mistake you made, but suffice it to say, it just confirms my prejudices of lucas-bashers.

  • @hcvang you call me a lucas-basher? lol no shit, I explained why Lucas sucks both as a person and a filmmaker but if you got no arguments back then it's your problem

  • @poisionarrowclean Lucvas isn`t jealous o Ridley scott, he judt took iconivc imegery and improved it, foer nodstalgia purposes and for improved remagiming, that is the same as what he did with th OT. Yes he was a bit jealous of Titanic,. but amition and competition are great, and hre is a masrerfull story wrier1!

  • @reviewreviewer1 You spell like freaking SHIT. Lay off the drugs.

  • @poisionarrowclean I am not on drugs, I just have tyoing problems, and atlast I treat people nicey.

I said Lucas isn`t jealous of Rudley Scott and that the obnly rason he took imaghery from hiss films was too tak iconic imagery and mprobve it for nostalgia and improvement reemeganing, he also did this with the OT,he was indee Jealouds of Cameron, but ambition and competion are good, and he is a great story writer!!!!

  • @reviewreviewer1 Lucas thinks exaggerated CGI compensates for lame story. Pity it's the dyslexic ones who treats people nicely...

  • @poisionarrowclean No he things aawesome CGU can add rto an amzing story1!!!

  • @ming746 Interesting quote, I guess GL like anyone changes their mind over the years. In a book of Rolling Stone interviews he said something like he didn't think kids had movies anymore to pass on values so he made SW. He also tried to get Spielberg to direct and Kasdan to write The Phantom Menace, they both thought he should do it himself to tell it his way. Fine Lucas isn't a great director but the dialogue of Flash Gordon serials was a wooden style, IV and V came just came out above par>

  • @Yggdrasillpeter good point, though "successfully" is still relative. It's not Panera but mediocre Star Wars is still better than less Star Wars in the world.

Damn, I'm rambling on this video...

  • Comment removed

  • >why be angry about it? BTW, I'm 31, I grew up in the 80s too, but I just choose to like things in the PT like the John Williams score, McGregor's role, more Yoda and talk of the Force, lightsabers> still would watch over most new sci-fi. A lot of younger, not yet jaded views like them. Garbage is just your own point of view, and how fucking boring would it be if we all had the same taste in movies?

  • Comment removed

  • While I think it's idiotic to debate on a youtube posting, especially when it mostly devolves into namecalling, everyone is entitled to hate what they want. The title of this post just pisses me off, and hate is a waste of time. The OT were ALWAYS meant to be childrens movies, Empire just came out magically because of who was involved. You're telling me ep. IV and VI weren't as childish and campy? Let a new generation of kids have their fun for God's sake. The End.

  • @LeonDeLaMole you r dead wrong and this video does show how lucas has changed.in the 1987 isue of starlog lucas says and I quote " what seperates star wars from other sci-fi films is that we do not look at it as just being a sci f chiildrens film, we put the absolute best in every act of the films": its usually younger fans who duid not grow up in the 80s and remembered lucas as he was that defend the garbage prequels and thats too sad for all of you. u goit garbage we got classics

  • I guaranty any of these assholes who constantly criticise the new movies and the dialogue, if they tried to write, oh I don't know, a script of their own, it would SUCK. It's easy to shit on someone elses movie, very hard to write good dialogue from scratch, or come up with a story not based on something else. So lets see what you've written, if anything, it's probably shit.

  • @LeonDeLaMole yes it is hard thank god foir all of us lucas did not write the empire strikes back, he did not direct it....he had gary kurtz producung ans as the 2nd unit director...not that ass kisser moron rick mcallaum. lucas wrote the prequels as he went along....where with the OT he hired great screenwriters. the prequels are oure GARBAGE nothing more

  • @LeonDeLaMole

If I were to write a script of my own it would probably (more likely definitely) suck. Then again, that's the reason I don't work in Hollywood and why I don't write scripts and direct movies. However, from someone who does do all that like, say, George fucking Lucas, I expect a job well done, regardless of whether or not I could do an equally good job.

You expect a baker to succesfully bake bread regardless of your own baking skills, don't you?

  • Comment removed

  • SHAME on you George Lucas, shame on you. *waving fist around looking bitter and angry*

I think we starwars fans should join together and see if excorcism works on Lucas? Who is with me?

  • this video is sad cause it shows what was once a briliant filmaker who wanted to create art and great films who becams seduced by the root of all evil.MONE" and he then went from wanting to create great art and films to wanting to make the most profit. gary kurtz in a way was boi-wan..he stayed true to the good side and wanted toi keep creating quality like episode5 and lucas went to the dark side and just did what would make the most money no matter if it meant making garbage

  • @ming746 iF lUCAS ONLY CARED ABOUT MONEY HE WOULD JUST MAKE MOVIES FOR studios and not fund himself, he also wouldn`t spent as much time as he did on poltics and the love story or the clone story he would just have hd more actin.

  • @reviewreviewer1 thats the dumbest thing I have ever heard.if he did films for the studio he would just make a salary. if he funds it himself all the profits are his..the toy income is his...everything is HIS. you lack common sense or what?

  • @ming746 Oke that`s a true, but what says he didn`t want to keep making great quality movies, if jut wamted to make mone he would have made an avoraction packed dumbed don movie with little story, like the new Star Trk, he wouldn`t have things like politics in his movies, that`s actualy one of the mean criticism on the prequels, that they are boring, also Gary Kurtz didn`t make any great movies since Star Wars.

  • @reviewreviewer1 dude politics had nothing to do with it. the filmsucked. the acting sucked. the dialouge sucked. you need to watch this 70 mins review of phantom menace and I PROMISE you will look at it the same way I do.it points out just how the film was written like a 5 yr old did it and how it makes no sense...here is the link enjoy

prequels are pure garbage. after you watch that video you qill agree.

  • in youtube type in 70 min phantom menace review. you will have your eyes awakened

  • @ming746 People often recomended his review to me but I saw both atleast 5 times and I didn`t agree with any of his points on II, oh the caracters don`t have sex, hell like I care I am still a virgin and I am willing to stay one if thatment I could be a Jedi.

  • @reviewreviewer1 if you do not agree with his points.which are all based soundly with common sense then you mjst be some 12 yr old kid who just craves action and power ranger type garbage. so there is no hope for you.so enjoy the garbage known as the prequels. pure shit nothing more.later little kiddie.cause the original films are hailed as the gone with the wind of sci fi and empire strikes back was elected 2nd best sequel of all time next to godfather part 2

  • @ming746 Hey common let`s stay friendly, I didn`t like the prequels for the action but the story abnd caracters, my favoutite is II because of the whole political intrigue and the clone story and also the love story, and ofcourse Anakin`s turn to the darkside. Please respond.

  • @reviewreviewer1 as a kid i doubt you care about things like good acting and good screenplay. that review spells out in detail how and why the prequels suck and how they were written by a 5 yr old. for anyone to disagree is just being purly bias. im going to send you a message s telliing in detauil how lucas droped the ball and ruined these films. if all one wantsa is action and sword fights go watch power rangers. star wars is the holy grail.

  • @ming746 Again I like II the most for the ppolitical intrugue the friendship of Obi Wan and Anakin, the clone story, the caracter of Count Dooku, how it showed how Owen ad Beru fit into the mythology an so on. I would love to discus the movies with you and am very interesting in what you have to say, but I would like it if you didn`t get hostile.

  • @ming746 I already saw it but although I agree with a lot of points I still think the movie rocks!!

  • This video's point is completely wrong. There's no contradiction between the two quotes. The Jango scene is not slowing down the place of the film for world building; its an action sequence that's fun to watch.

Now if the video had used the extended Mos Eisley/cloud city sequences it might have a point.

  • Oops... does NOT cover it, George... sorry... you FAIL... apparently with great movie comes great stupid?

  • George Lucas ???? Well to me he was the best, till 1983, then he went to become a business man........ too bad.

  • he almost looks like chewbacca with that hair and beard..

  • That was Lucas before the "dark times" , before the Prequels. :)

  • @pathx21 Could everybody stop abouut the prequels already, they were great movies and if Lucas was a selout he wouldn`t have spent so much movie time on politics and Anakin and Padme`s love story, tat would have been way more action in I and II.

  • well with money and the possibilities the principles change.

  • what the hell happened to him

  • How ironic. He could lecture others, but he couldn't even learn for himself.

  • wow...

  • It seems George said that along time ago in a galaxy far far away...

  • Oh man George what happened?

  • So what? Jango's suit isn't a setting, it's a costume.. nice try though.

  • That's a stab if I ever seen one.

  • Its ironic how he did the exact opposite of what he was stating in 1983 when making the prequals

  • I guess which is why later star wars films were not as successful as the first three.....

  • NICE BEARD

  • well spotted! carrie fisher likes a good riding, lol!!

  • What is the first interview from. It looks like From Star Wars to Jedi where he also said "a special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing" but I don't remember the line from this upload.

  • I really don't understand why is it so wrong to spend time on the enviroment? Any successful film maker have spend allot of time on the enviroment. Without enviroment. There is no movie :P
