If there are going to be changes, they should be made at the top - ie less flights fro all airports etc, its ridiculous to charge people more for energy when everyone is struggling through a recession.

Dont pick up the trash once a fortnight, give incentives to recycle, dont force us to do it whilst saving cash.

Airbus A380's are more fuel efficient than cars. Simple carpooling and public transport would have a greater effect than less flights.

I agree with you on top-down changes though. The only thing I do disagree on is that I think the idea of, say, a carbon tax is the best kind of incentive out there while you seem to be saying the opposite.

whatever your views may be on this particular topic, keep in mind that change has to be made or we're going to continue to go in circles. Look at the big picture; we blame gasoline running cars, high energy bills... WE the people are the virus that is slowly killing this land and melting our polar caps... Mr. Yorke as well as many others make a good point.. Change has to be made sooner then later... It all starts with creating awareness, cooperation, and the right funding.
