Paul Giametti is such a great actor, but I can't stop seeing "Harvey Pekar" and Miles from "Sideways" in him, no matter what, and that makes me laugh when I oughtn't be:)
@TupacX2Pak I know that! I understand that! Still, there was alot of little things, subplots & what not. All in all, THE ILLUSIONIST is a far better film! Better storyline! Hands down! End of story! I'm not saying 'the prestige' wasn't a good movie. Just merely that it had way too much to follow, while THE ILLUSIONIST didn't. Simple!

@PrincessOfMasada Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it's not good. Besides the prestige isn't hard to figure out. One magician had a twin brother, the other used a machine to clone himself. I guess though if you have mental disadvantages that concept becomes a bit hard to understand.
This movie looks corny compared to The Prestige, this has fake magic, in the other one it's REAL life, real struggles and sacrifices (has a deep meaning too). So could som1 tell me if this gets better? and how it compares with the prestige (which i love)
@Ur0pinionDoesntCount i've seen both movies. idk if comparing them would be fair. diff plots! this movie is really good actually-different from the prestige but not, to me, in a bad way. this one is a love story-focuses on how two people bound together by destiny have to take fate into their own hands if they expect to be together in the end. the illusionist the tricks are persuasive without being forceful by use of a machine like in the prestige. it is a mystery, crime, suspense, romance.
@2004dale yeah but in prestige, the moral is that things are usually simpler than they really are, hence why they use machines it's to make the meaning stand out, not because they can't do magic. It's more of a real movie which is what I'd prefer, with the illusion that they use magic. It's both sad and realistic, kind of makes you say 'wow'. I could still give one a chance though

@ponzies103 yeh when i 1st saw that scene i felt it was gonna be good.. shaking my head @ the people saying this movie is boring .. compared to what an action flick? this movie is far from boring it kept my attention the ENTIRE way threw..... VERY good FILM.................. its in my list of top films that i LoVe..... if you like this you should watch the film "The Prestige" another classic... Very thought provoking.... like this film..
