  • Implying you bitches do not love my shirt.

  • WAY too many frost trolls skyrim

  • i enjoy being able to see his teeshirt in the glare

  • You should try Bandicam while recording Skyrim..

  • thank you soo much for the guide i now get 55+ fps :)

  • nice shirt

  • soooo you have fraps, but record it with a camera... interesting.

  • @jakep2007 Go record with Fraps and see how much your FPS drops

  • @Gearsguy405 i'm well aware of the frame drop, i was making a joke... >_<

  • @jakep2007 he use Frap <- the software that show how much frap you have while recording that how

  • Is it worth it to overclock the m14x and if so Why?

  • @derron444 Yes, overclocking means to make the system component "run faster". The CPU (processor) already does this automatically with Turbo Boost but the GPU (Graphics card) needs to be done manually (NVIDIA System tools/MSI Afterburner). You will see a small bump in temperatures but I see a 10fps jump in most games

  • @Gearsguy405 im sorry if im stupid, but what is overclock?

  • Hi may i know how much did you pay for this machine including shipping?

  • @1208Silverize Mine cost 1900$ with shipping + tax WITH the 3 year advanced/accidental warranty. Without the warranty it probably would have been less than 1600 almost

  • @Gearsguy405 you do realize that overclocking your device VOIDS the warranty so paying all the extra money for it was just a waste.

  • @jv11112 Uh, no. All laptops can be overclocked without voiding the warranty. You do realize even modern day CPU's auto overclock (called Turbo Boost) so it would be common sense putting two and two together.

  • @jv11112 you do realize your a fucking moron so you being born was just a waste.

  • @bouzadax7 at least I'm not moron enough to suck the corporate dick and spent $300 on a warranty that i don't need or will never use.

  • @1208Silverize i got mine for about 1300 total, i but thats cuz i didnt upgrade anything in it...its 1100 stock. the extra 200 is for the warranty

  • All I can see in the video is the users reflection

  • @htwingnut I can see your username..

  • I have an Alienware M17 but most games are around 30 FPS and sometimes spike down to around 10-20. I have never been able to figure out why. Im almost positive its not viruses.

  • Trolololololololololololololololol etc.....

  • the m14x is a very good laptop. its fps and speed is better than the m11x yet its still pretty portable despite being 14 inches. perfect for a college student like myself. im able to play online games on it high settings no lag at all.

  • Is the screen glare bad when playing skyrim?

  • @MadnessOfMarmots only if your outside, if not then its fine. also though ive noticed if im in my den with the lights off but the blinds open... then i get a really noticable really distracting/annoying reflection of myself thats so perfect i cant see anything on the screen besides myself lol. so as long as there isnt too much sunlight (lol) then your fine. and you can buy screen glare protecters

  • honestly that thing gets better fps than my xbox

  • @IIKaDicEU Surprising

  • @IIKaDicEU i hope you know xbox, ps3 are like SUPER low end hardware. Xbox's and ps3's are able to run this because the draw or view distance is really short, so an m14x is obviously going to get more fps

  • @IIKaDicEU NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!

  • @IIKaDicEU Coz the Xbox's graphics is nowhere near as complex as computer... google comparisons between PS3, Xbox & PC.

  • @IIKaDicEU it should. consoles are capped at 30fps

  • does the 3gb 555m make alot of difference compaired to the 1.5gb 555m...... if so how much

  • @shomlam1 Its really hard to explain, but really, if you plan to keep this 3+ years, the 3GB upgrade would be worthwhile

  • wow 30-40 frames with fraps and i thought i was going to get 40 fps max on a pimped m17x.....thanks for this video :)

  • @sasjenkyn He's not recording with Fraps.

  • @Bobaloobi oh, really? i was gonna say....thanks :)

  • @8610803eternal

    Fraps

  • nice vid man. how'd you get the fps counter in the top left corner?

  • Comment removed

  • Nice, now all you need is a game that wasn't meant for consoles/not broken on the PC.

  • @Blurtex33 pretty much. Ive done optimization mods recently that haven't "fixed" the game but I now have even better graphics while getting the same fps or so.

  • @Blurtex33 actually the ps3 version has the most known glitches of the three (being xbox, ps3, and pc)

  • @shoezomaku I know, but at least Bethesda cares to fix the ps3's problems

  • @Blurtex33 and the PC's problems. the thing thats cool about the PC is you can fix the problems yourself and dont even have to wait for a patch. As long as your "tilde" key works then lik 95% of the glithces/bugs you encounter... are no problem

  • @shoezomaku True, but fiddling with the console can cause other problems to arise. And even then it is more fun to not have the bugs in the first place

  • @Blurtex33 only if you dont know what you are doing, if you do then your fine. and if you dont know, then you can look it up. But if you dont know what you are doing, and look up a fix to the problem, without looking the everything about it up, then yes you could just destroy your game and have to start over.

  • shit's awesome.

  • @AvailabilityForce I laugh because you deleted all the previous comments. You can call me "Pedophile" but one that me and Gearsguy405 are sure of is you being a "Immature Douche", As quoted above.

  • @Tchang2685 AvalibilityForce I mean, not you

  • @Tchang2685 User blocked for being immature douche.

  • What graphical setting is this on? Med High???

  • @J4K34RM0UR Maxed at 1600x900

  • wow, low fps for this laptop

  • @Tchang2685 not really he is playing MAX . For a laptop that is pretty darn impressive ( M14X <3) I dont have it for PC but i do for Xbox and i've been thinking of rebuying it just for my m14xlol

  • @RebelliousToe You can't afford it, then.

  • Hey, I was wondering if you have tried any of the mods to improve textures at all? Or done any of the .ini tweaks to improve draw distance of stuff? How does the performance do on the M14x then? Also, I have read in a lot of places that the 3gb 555m doesn't really improve performance. Do you know if that is indeed true?

  • can't wait to get the m14x xD

  • dude, it has glare...

  • On ultra

  • I get 40-60fps without overclock on my M14x

  • @IOnceWasANoob Yes performance has increased a bit since the new updates. This was on version 1.0

  • @Gearsguy405 did fraps effect fps? ik you werent recording USING fraps but still just wondering. i have the same specs as you but 1.5 gb nvidia 555, which wont make a difference.

  • @IzzatSektor123 No and the 3gb card can make a difference.

  • wold the asus g72gx have close to the same perfomance as this. PLEASE ANSWER!!!!!!!!

  • skyrim for me still stutters. oc 700/1400/1000. and plus i ahve 1.5g gt555m. hoping that shouldnt be too much of a difference.

  • @acery2005 put anti anilasting or what ever its called off. i got like 20 more frames. now running 40-60

  • @IzzatSektor123

that is with aa and af off. screen res 1280x780. it just dips in cities and other places where it really shouldnt. on bethesda forums others are getting same thing. so hoping its fixable with a patch. fallout wasnt really playable until it got patched god knows how many times

  • @acery2005 i have a shit comp and it can run skyrim fine on high. idk mang. the only good thing about my current comp is the gtx 460. but im glad im getting this soon. i want a laptop thats capable of running everything, and is portable.

  • @IzzatSektor123 dude dont trade in something with a gtx 460 for this. That card is definitely better than the 555gt

  • @CrankyBuddha but the processor on it is wayyyyyyyy too i can only run skyrim on medium cause the processor ruins it.

  • @acery2005 oh yeah and put the resolution down lol.

  • Man i want an alienware xD

  • Lewis2301 completely depends on your graphics card, and being honest no it would not run well on full settings even with a fairly good graphics card ( I'm guessing from your other specs you don't have a good one), if you have an integrated graphics card ( virtual one the CPU creates) then you have no chance, my pc has a quad i5 4gbs of ram, 512mb nvidia card and that runs it on medium settings @ about 30-50fps. Hope this helps.

  • will overclocking kill the gpu quicker cus when i overclocked my desktop its gpu fried within 6 days (gtx 270 i think)

  • @DIVISION216 No, unless you overkill it (dont go over 775 ish for the core clock)

  • @Gearsguy405 ok so if you don't overclock the card over 775, then the gpu wont get fried? PLEASE ANSWER :)

  • @goofygoober3311 No, I wont guarantee that. But i use 775/1080 and Im fine. I take no responsibility if your machine is different.

  • @Gearsguy405 I'm getting the alienware m18x with defualt settings. Could it run skyrim?

  • @garrettdw2 Yes but I wouldnt reccomend it. The m18x's true power is that it has dual GPUs but the default m18x has only one which is a waste. I would go for an upgraded m17x r3 instead if I were you (like a 6990M for only 200$ more; I think that with a 1080p screen is only 50$ more than a stock m18x)

  • @Gearsguy405 Ah, okay.

  • what do you mean by overclocking it and how?

  • @TheRubarian In simple terms, making your graphics card faster. A number of programs can do it (MSI Afterburner and NVIDIA system tools are popular)

  • @Gearsguy405 thankyou running it greatly now

  • Nice bro, I run this game maxed out 4x aa 16xaf on my lappy too off with HDMI to my hdtv in 720p. Game is fucking amazing, check the video on my channel.

  • Dude, I've a proble. My m14x specs are: i7-2630, 4gb RAM at 1600, 1600x900, gt555 1.5gb, 750gb HDD at 7,200.. I used your setting with the GPU OC and RAM on 1600, but I can't reach a great performance, my frames are between 14-19.. Is awful, why I can't get your performance? I'll apricite your help.

  • @zacmalacon

    Hey man try the link.

  • @zacmalacon i also have 14x, had trouble initally but turned off anti aliasing and it runs nice and smooth now

  • @jxcream Yeah, I fixed unselecting FXAA. My FPS increased from 14-17 to 35-40.

    On Skyrim:

    AA: off

    AF: 8 samples

All Water selected, all High or Ultra except Shadow at medium

  • These settings are legit (Works perfectly with my M14X without overclocking). Thanks a bunch!

  • pastebin(.)com

  • btw does it run totally okay when you install from steam. Have major framerate issues with my current computer when installing from disc

  • Nice, use your favorites menu for some of those pots bro!

  • Love your vid man. Please come up with the optimization tutorial soon. Thx lots. Thumbs up :)

  • Did it
