  • I just don't understand why you'd release a video where the guy is not protecting his face. I don't care that he's just doing kicking drills. He's should train properly at all times!

  • @jonathanrootcom In Sport TKD, they do it for Balance.

  • Thanks alot i got some new dance moves :)

  • This guy is lame as fuck..

  • i'm still wondering that how can i do the 540 degrees kick, i've practised many times but it's almost useless. can you guys help me?

  • I'm taught in Shotokan Karate not to dip my head like this man is because it limits the height of the kick, plus it offers your head as a nice target, plus he is not keeping his guard up. Nice video just I think the technique leaves a little to be desired

  • I like his bobble head. Every time he kicks it goes back and forth LOL!

  • @corvanjer the more head movement you give the harder it is for your opponent to hit you. i know its goofy looking but its actually helped me alot.

  • i like everything about this vid exept his hands go down

  • @kenseisato1989 he is a wtf black belt, they don't use punches to score in that style of competition. Looks like i just owned you

  • @thathkimll

    LOLs

  • is that taekwondo his doing

  • leed foot kicks also have importance, not just rear leg kicks, there is no one way in martial arts is what bruce lee was trying to tell people.

  • our sifu doesn't let us "tap dance" in between throwing kicks, he teaches us to master our footing so we're stable and either throw snapping or start over kicks without tap dancing so to speak. its a great skill of balance. good luck.

  • I have question. Is it better to kick with the instep of the foot or the shin when doing a roundhouse kick? i know in TKD, striking with the instep is emphasized, whereas in muay thai, it is the shin bone that is being used. I understand that both techniques are good, but I'm curious to know the actual advantages as to why both systems emphasize one technique over another.

  • @FlyGuy1104 From what I understand, the disadvantage of kicking with your instep is that it's your foot. Your feet's bones are not that strong, but your shin is very strong.

  • @angbayemay Master Kim has posted a video reply to you question - the link is below

  • @FlyGuy1104 obviously u cant kick as hard if ur using ur instep because its easy 2 broke foot bones. muay thai roundhouses r deadlier in general because not only r they using their shins (which they've hardened and turned into a human club through intense shin conditioning) 2 connect with...they're also pivoting and putting their hips into the kick which gives it immense power. if a muay thai guy kicks u in ur thigh, it literally feels like a solid club smashing against u

  • @domcha131

You can kick as hard using the instep. The whole point of using the instep is that it's solid and you don't hurt yourself. The very fact you need to condition your shin in muay thai should be a red flag for the fact that the shin is not meant to take force that way. You also pivot the hips for the taekwondo roundhouse. This video is a terrible example.

  • Roundhouse kick i missed that ...

  • I do the same thing at my gym but we dont have the same bag where i go.

This guy demonstrating in the video is really good, he's gettng some good power and sound from those kicks.

  • take the pad off the pole, then realise these kicks are for sports only. The round house is not being done properly. the foot you are standing on is meant to pivot on impact of the kicking leg. please people watch!!!

  • Is that a wraped wall??

  • @fasy16 Yes, it's wrapped with crash padding that's about 1 inch thick

  • does anyone know where to get that padded pole wrap they are using?

  • ok no no no no no.... i can't stand this shit..... everything i see in this video is horrible in so many ways!!!

  • wow. you have so good form and technnique

  • his kicks are very smooth because its a kicking drill... Once you get the technique, the power comes with it. And this isnt demonstrating his technique and power, showing off or anything; this is a tutorial to help people grasp the right technique so they can THEN develop their power. He could kick 7 shades of shit out of you, and you know it...

  • @ArkiveX every single roundhouse kick this person is doing is wrong. there is no power, & no technique. there is nothing correct at all. look at the leg he is standing on, it is not pivoting as the kicking leg hits the target= no power. and that means none.also, imagine taking the pad off the pole and kicking it with the instep(the top of your foot) then,..ouch. because you cannot forge (condition)the small little bones in the top of the foot.Good for sports though.Maybe he can win a gold medal!

  • @misscandicotton you should shut the fuck up. this isnt a power drill, he says so. not every fucking kick has to use the shin, shin is slower and much easier to see coming. like to see you scrap with him.

  • @ssjanime250 i don't care if it is a power drill, not a power drill, a feather duster drill, or a hollywood acting drill, ..you don't practise ANYTHING incorrectly over & over again unless you don't understand it, or you believe you're actually doing it right. This guy is drilling fullstop. Hes drilling wrong, whether it's power, or whether its not power.. to practise something wrong is worse than not at all! Yes I'd love to have a turning kick only spar with him. Hands tied behind back more fun

  • @misscandicotton k not every god damn kick has to be the muay thai style. god u ppl only know how to do a slow and predicatble roundhouse with ur shin. dude just watch the other videos this guy posted up and then reply, hes a master trust me. all of his kicks are clean.

  • @ssjanime250 i've never mentioned the words muay thai, you are confusing me with someone else? I have never used my shin in my life, i detailed the incorrect method of "round house" here in this video, BIG TIME whether a non-power drill, or fairy princess drill, it's repeatedly WRONG, a) always practise correctly, no excuse, b) always pivot on the ball of the foot you are stood on when delivering a round house, otherwise it will be a point scoring kick, and that's all, weak. Forget shins.

  • @ssjanime250 PS i always use the attacking tool of the ball of the foot, because it is conditioned through generations of evolution of the human form, and I've walked on it from child birth to adult, but for some reason people just don't want to use it! I have asked many times and it turns out it is harder for people than the instep at speed. All i can say is see a ball of foot turning kick used at speed at a 45 degree angle and you will see it is engineered to deliver huge power at great ease

  • @ArkiveX haaaahahahaha lmfol. that last comment was hilarious man!!!

i can't stop laughing. 7 shased of shit?? haahahaha

  • @ArkiveX no its not, its a vid explaining how to use a wrapped pillar as a target for kicks...did u even listen to the commentary?

  • @ArkiveX fuck u bitch

  • @ArkiveX FINALLY! A comment that isn't retarded.

  • @ArkiveX lmao seven shades of shit ftw lol

  • thank you for such an inspiring video

  • your kicks are very smooth, kick like a man

  • yeah.. Its those heavy bags wnt gotta watch out for isn't it? Last thing you want while kicking a heavy bag to practice your kicks is for it to magically punch you in the face. Lame :/

  • @ArkiveX lolol XD

  • Keep your hands up or you'll get punched or kicked in the head!!!

  • @ShalomYal Everyone put their guard down when they kick even the pros

  • @MrFreeman420 At my school we train to keepat least one hand up and we certainly aren't "pros" - just give it a try you'll see it can make a big diference. Happy training

  • @ShalomYal It helps with your balance tremendously

  • @ShalomYal wtf? - .-

  • @alifak1 I don't get your hostility - don't you think it is a good idea to keep your hands up in a fight? What am I missing? So , why practice kicking with your hands at your side? Rather than hostility - try responding with ideas about technique

  • @ShalomYal Yeah, have to admit that was rude. sorry about that bro, but the reasons why they put their hands low is to help alot their balance like MrFreeman420 said, also note that this is a kicking drill, which focus on ONLY practising kicks. While doing that kind of ''training'', having alot of balance is essential. When I train my punches, I have my guard up, most of the time, it's not for protecting myself, it's to have better rotation power.

  • @ShalomYal How will they punch or kick him back if he's kicking the shit out of them already?

  • @ShalomYal

look at buakaw kicking, his guard is exactly the same

  • @ShalomYal

You won't get punched in the head in TKD....
