@mobatheseeker They generally do it to mark it with their scent so other cats know it's theirs but this cat is so obsessive about it because she's pregnant and probably has a lot of oxytocin in her system....it's the love hormone that will give her the desire to care for her kittens.

I agree with Chevygirl, it is cruel to breed cats like this, they have all sorts of joint problems, and are kept inside all their lives. Its a throwback of nature that someone thought "oh thats cute, i will breed those" Mmmmm, not thinking about the cats of course. And also, Shetland ponies do live longer than horses (previous comment) and I was slandered in 2010 for being "uneducated" in my opinion on breeding these cats, well i suppose being a feline specialist counts for nothing then? They have short legs too. or better yet, the chihuahua, if the are bred to breeding standards, they can't give birth naturally, most are done by cesarean. So we'll just get rid of all those breeds of animals. Sound good to you? Why is it so bad that a cat is different in stature when other animals are bred that way. I doubt the Pomeranian naturally evolved in the wild.

They are a natural occurring breed which has little or no problems with their spines. Currently we have two munchkins who are in their late teens. They are healthy and happy animals. Depends on if she bred with another munchkin or not. If not, the chances are halved, and it depends on the dominant gene.

If so, most likely, but the mortality rate depends on if the sure was a long-legged or short-legged munchkin.

as I said these are NATURALLY occurring cats. That means that somewhere down the line there was a genetic mutation which gave a cat short legs. The fact that these cats continued to survive and breed means that there is some advantage to them (not a disadvantage).
