@bpotts0401 I dont know if the intent was to destroy Sega, but yes, Nintendo's original deal for a CD based system was with Sony- Sony would be in charge of that part. Nintendo and Sony couldn't agree on ownership so they parted ways. What we got from that was the Playstation.

You forgot Donkey Kong 64, that is a very good game. Not as good as Mario 64, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but better than GoldenEye and Kirby 64.

On a different note, the Pokemon games were awesome, but the show is boring and repetetive, in my humble opinion.

I am guessing part 5 is about PS2, X-Box (which I believe Sega sold their Dreamcast technology to), the long awaited Nintendo Dolphine aka GameCube, and the demise of Sega.

It is funny you and I have similar upbringings in games except I was a Sega Genesis supporter.

Nintendo gets a bad wrap for having kiddy games, which probably began with the SNES ports of Doom and Mortal Kombat. But I think it's unfair to say Nintendo makes kids games machines these days. Plus in my experience, more teen and younger gamers have PS2s.

you know whats weird. the 32x and sega cd were intended to increase the lifespan of the genesis by being two difrent consoles but the weird thing is that some companys made 32xcd games incase you were stupid enought to buy both. but only like 8 games were made

I love the fact in that Nintendo Anti Violent game debacle, is that Howard Lincoln the then president of Nintendo US proclaimed that Night Trap would never, ever appear on a Nintendo console.

Kinda ironic that it wouldn't be for another 10 years they had a machine that could play it anyway!

Also the blood in MKII was pretty much forced on them as the Genesis/Megadrive original had outsold the SNES version 10 to 1 just because it had blood in it.
