Actually this is originally from the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack (you know the movie)by Clint Mansell as played by the Kronos Quartet. Oakenfold's is a remix.

And, yes, I'd imagine any studio rendition by professional musicians to be superior than a home video, what an observation. Tells you to the talent of these guys that you'd even compare the cover to the original.
