The woman who trapped him there was Lisa Mansfield, his wife before Traci. She was introduced just as Traci found out she was pregnant with Colleen. Lauren ended up tracking Brad down, only to get caught herself. Feeling the walls closing in, Lisa turned the gas on and left Brad and Lauren to die. It was Jack (then played by Terry Lester) who saved the day. Funny how years later this cage looks a lot like the cage that Sheila used to lock Lauren up.
