@Bunnybasher270 Actually, I put this on the same par as Chris's version, considering she had the backing of the Motown sound.....good on ya TRULY.....
I saw this featured on the Ready Steady Girls site this month. This girl sings really well! she's cute in an ugly sort of way - kind of like Lulu hehehe
@lollipopz321 wow! i discovereb this lady last week 'cause i bought a "rare mod" compilation with a song by her on it! stunnig voice! I hope she was goot at teaching as she was for singing!
I remember Josie Taylor {real name], working with me,Claire,at Dawson's Record shop Warrington.1966??we ran the listening booth's playing FAB 45's.A young man, now labelled 'Max Clifford of the North' also worked with us, that is the Legendary Coop beat group agent DAVE WARWICK ha ha, .Josie's brother Alan Taylor , was also lead singer in 'Decca' Warrington bands 5-NITES and The TIMES,later sang in bands with my hubby Bob Dufton,Gordon Struthers,Alan Unsworth and Kenny Crank,HAPPY DAYS
yeah she is called Josie Macdonough and she worked at Dukes Middle School even though she looks completely (nearly) different. She is a MacDonough because she married an ex-art teacher at Duchess Community High School both schools are in Alnwick
Truly seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth! Great voice, not so different from early Kiki Dee. I guess it wasn't her real name either though. Any idea what it was?
Apparently her current real name is Josie MacDonough (she is a retired school headteacher in Northumberland) which would have made her Josie Taylor (?)
Great stuff- she made some great records- shouldnt one of the re- issue labels put a compilation out or something?!

Great song, why wasn't this a major hit, and it's about time one of the re-issue companies saw sense and put this track out again.

An amazing amount of interest in Truly Smith! Quite right too.Why hasn't Decca or one of the smaller independent labels not launched a compilation?

she sounds just like Chris Clark on this

Fantastic record which Decca/Universal always leave off their 60s girl comps. Bought the 45 off eBay.
Cool change at 2mins where the backing vocals kind of take the lead.
