If i remember correctly it was a 100% stock long block. just had the 71mm turbo on it with proper fuel system and motec for tuning. it was an extremely simple set up.
i believe it is stock. It is said they stock internal can handle anywhere up to 700hp recommended. For someone like darin with his knowledge and expertize then i believe he could take it up to a 1000hp. The only reason why people on here don't believe that is because there is not very many engines in this world stock you can triple the horsepower and some without doing a complete overhaul. Supra's were a engineering genius when they came out.
@Panditha666 I hope you aren't talkin about a 2JZ... as potent as they are from the factory, the internals won't last long at 1k HP... maybe for awhile but the life won't be long
@Panditha666 yeah i ahve seen many of sw's rides including the texas mile supra and the 10.5 1/4 in an sc300 and many more.... HMMMM NOT stock bottom ends... even if they are, it's GONNA be a blown motor...
They have held 1000hp stock, not 1000rwhp, and even that wasn't for very long. And I don't recall SW ever running anything with a stock motor, or even a stock bottom end. His supra he ran the mile in is about as far from stock as you can get and still call it a 2J
@TEFLONTHADON The 2JZ has made 1016whp on a stock motor. I don't know how long it held up though. But the 2JZ has hit 1000whp multiple times on a stock motor. Look it up!
@kageryu311 it held up for one pull.... it threw a rod on the second pull... lol I hear so many people talk about that number but if you ask them where one can find the dyno graph and and anything else about the car about 3/4 of people just give the typical blank stare. Too many dyno queens these days who misinform the general public... while you could push the block to 800hp, I still don't know why anyone would, even with a good tune. disaster's right around the corner...
@thejfactors Obviously it held up for a handful of pulls. Yes you can push 800whp on the stock bottom end all day because I have. 800whp is the safe limit for the motor. There are many people who push around 800whp on the stock bottom end. The 1000whp examples on the stock bottom end are dyno queens. The ones you see on the street are on the street making 800whp are usually stock bottom end.
@kageryu311 I drive a ford pinto.... jp ;) I drive z32 tt but I got bored recently so I fabbed up a single setup lol. Problematically I have to pay for college too... so the car takes a back seat, though it helps that i do my own work. And I kinda incorrectly worded what i was trying to say. It def held up for multiple pulls what i meant to say is once it hit 1016whp it threw a rod on the next (not second) pull. also reason for confusion: first post u said stock motor, now ur saying bottom end.
@thejfactors There are people who hit close to 800 on stock cams but to hit those power levels with less boost it is good to have some cams. Thats why I say stock bottom end and not stock motor.
@kageryu311 lol I'm starting to sound like an asshole with this little war we've started. I appreciate the clarification. initially ur use of the phrase "stock motor" which i interpreted as "long block" & 1000whp in the same paragraph made me giggle a lil. But 800whp with some head work seems more reasonable if the intention is to drive the car after the dyno session ;) and yes u could probably skim 800whp without headwork, though ur car will probably hate u lol. & we gotta love our children :)
@thejfactors You don't need head work until over 1100whp. There are Supras making 1100whp on forged bottom ends and stock heads with just cams and valve springs reliably.
i hear ya lol darin mate it is not stock, i dont car wat anyone says i had a supra with a 2jz single turbo t66 highrise with custom front ount motec computer race spec exhaust with a fully built 1000hp auto custom gearbox n it only run a low 10's supra bottom ends are not known to be tuff at all, i went throw 3 blocks before i found the right formula
The 2JZ stock bottom end has handled well in excess of 950 RWHP. I'm not sure if the record has changed since Mike Carlin made 980.55, but that's the highest I've heard of. Peter Blach also put down 958.
Yeah, this is common knowledge in the Supra community. Are you somehow making excuses for other cars? Is Toyota guilty of something here? Your original message seems to highlight "forged internals" as if there's something wrong with that. Did you intend for that interpretation or not?
ive seen kenne bells trying to max out on the highway blow, not saying they are all like that. my friend dave has a terminator cobra, with around 600 whp, and he blew a piston right out the block racing a c6 z06 on the highway
Guess it depends on how well its tuned. I've seen 400hp supras blow at the strip. Both motors will hold more than most people should ever be allowd to have.
depends if the owner throws a 200 shot of nitrous like no tomorow in it or not. ive know of guys with supras just being idiots about their cars. you take car of either, and it will give you respectable numbers
those 3.0 internals are pretty beefy stock; w/o the twin turbos the 2JZ makes no more than 145 hp, but it can handle upwards of 600 when boosted at 18-35 psi
the 2jz gte without turbos run 198bhp. the reason being they have low comp pistons the 2jz ge runs higher compression so it has more power naturally aspirated. but I dont see why anyone would run a motor like that without turbos.
If i remember correctly it was a 100% stock long block. just had the 71mm turbo on it with proper fuel system and motec for tuning. it was an extremely simple set up.

That's because 1jz's and 2jz's comes FORGED INTERNALS already from factory.

are you retarded? the reason they can HOLD SO MUCH HP STOCK bottom end is because of the forged internals from factory. THATS MY POINT, GET IT?
