  • The guitarists are Freddie Weller - known later as a fine country solo artist, and Keith Allison who rose to fame on "Where The Action Is" as a solo singer, then joined the Raiders who were also headliners on Action. Keith's older brother was one of the orignial Crickets (Buddy Holly and the..) Keith reminded me of Paul McCartney a bit and I had quite a crush on him and Mark Lindsay. Never missed the show and would love to see reruns. Dick Clark are you listening?

  • *sigh* Paul never gets enough camera time...

  • Gosh, never noticed how pretty Mark's eyes are... o.o

  • Mark Lindsay was hot, but I always had the hugest crush on the bassist, Keith Allison.... SO cute... Sigh.... Great clip - thanks for posting!

  • They're like an American Small Faces (well, better players and substantially less alcohol). If you take out ALL the clowning, I'm not sure there's anything left at all. But they can rock harder than hell in two minutes. And their 45s were incredibly loud - you could play them with your fingernail and hear the music.

  • who's the guitarist

  • Good grief! I almost had a heart attack when I came across this! I sooo loved Mark Lindsey...He had an incredible voice and an amazing performer.

  • So 60's, So awesome, nothing today compares

  • I really need that time machine.

  • @wouldntyoulike2know Let me know when you get one. I will be your first ride !!

  • Wish I could let Keith Allison "Let Me' not to mention Freddy Weller!! Anyone know what they are doing now? Saw Mark this past summer! Ooooo ;)

  • Every day at 4:45 am my alarm wakes me up with this fabulous song. Especially, I love the part at the end, when you think that the song is over and Mark starts to sing again "AMAMAMAMAMAMAMA" My body always starts shakin' even though I'm still not awake. Thanks for sharin'

  • Classic Raiders? Without Fang, Smitty and Drake? I don't feckin' think so.

  • this song make me crazee , let me :-))))) lol

  • Nice song from 1969. Mark's sideburns were kinda long, but still looks cool.

  • About three or four years before I actually started to seek out and pay money to see live shows, I just happened to catch Paul Revere and the Raiders who were featured at the John Wayne Theater in Knott's Berry Farm's Gypsey Camp. About five or six years earlier (or half a lifetime in kid terms) I used to walk around the house singing this song having no idea what they what it was about...but I could almost taste it!

  • Nice song!

The begining and the chorus remaind me a lott of "Let me entertain you" by Robbie Williams......

I wonder if Robbie got inspired listening to this song when writing Let me entertain you

  • do anyone know what was name of Paul Revere and the Raiders t.v. show came on Saturday in the late 60s or early 70s. please email me on face book.

  • @susan53ful Happening 68

  • @susan53ful Where the Action is? Or later Action?

  • @ChicagoJoe57 or is it action before the creation... or is it later ?

  • I do hair extensions. Now I know why and how my love started!! Mark. You still rock my world!!!

  • Anyone out there from Chicago remember that they played at the Auditorium Theater in 1970? Mark Lindsey had grown a beard & what a disappointment! :(

  • @Godzie1 This was one of my favorites from Mark, very racy for its time! We used to joke about the lyrics: Yes I get you and Yes I'll let you! I put aside (temporarily) my love of Paul McCartney for my lust for ML!

  • @bze2nlz4 Mcartney was cute & was so shocked that he married again after Linda's death! He had his soulmate? Why he married that Gold digger is unbelievable?

  • @Godzie1 Yeah, she was a real piece of work. At the time he must have been thinking with his 'second' brain, if ya know what I mean. Good thing she's out of the picture. Nancy Shevell is a much classier lady, and she doesn't need his money!

  • @bze2nlz4 I didn't even know about Nancy? I hope he's happy?

  • @Godzie1 They've been together for almost 3 years. Supposed to be getting married, eventually. It's good he's just taking his time!

  • @bze2nlz4 I'm surprised he would even want to? After that millions of dollars divorce! After all he had his solemate Linda & his children. He should just enjoy life now after a full & accomplished life. Without the headaches of a failed marrage could bring?

  • @bze2nlz4 who are you talking about?

  • @maryquant1967 I was in a convo with 'Godzie1' about Paul McCartney. Unless you click on 'View all Comments', people's replies are going to appear out of order...

  • At the tender age of 11 in 1969?

I threw away my childish love of Davey Jones for Mark Lindsey!

One thing I have to say is that my taste in men was improving in 1969? :)

  • mark Lindsay is a doll. I'd let him. One of my favorites. Yes, they do look better with out costumes and clowing around I agree. Great group. Thank You for posting.

  • Very easy to play on guitar - all bar chords!

  • Everything was fun then and the gals all looked Hot. Lets go back !

  • Great dance song, and the instrumental break in the long LP version is house before house! Steam-Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye and this song were sooooo way before their time!

  • Brilliant

  • Paul Revere and the Raiders did have a regular Branson gig without Lindsay, of course. The lead singer was Bill Medley's son, of Righteous Brothers fame. It was non-serious retro; humorous and a lot of fun.

  • saw mark lindsay in the early 80's at pittsburgh civic arena with the monkees the grass roots and peter noonan from hermans hermits great show

  • @kmasi302 REALLY? Wow. In the early 80s? Cooool.

  • 1:05 to 1:35 is so cool.

  • COOL!

  • mark lindsay was hawt

  • Mark still is hot and touring again!! :-)

  • And poor Paul Revere stuck in the back almost out of view

  • But the big snoz can't hide.

  • On the drums in this video is Joe Correro, Jr., who is from the town I was born in, Greenwood, MS.

  • awsome backvocals!!! (match the beatles)

  • awesome

  • Nice to see the band doing a straight performance. Sometimes I feel that the almost constant clowning undermines what a great tight outfit they were.

  • You're right, they sure had great tight outfits!

  • Lindsay's star find were the Chesterfield Kings.

Their big hit, if I recall was "99th Floor."

  • classic...Mark Lindsay rockin' the rat tail.

  • That's Keith Allison on bass. He replaced Charlie Coe in 1968.

  • Fang was long gone by this time. Mark Lindsay, Paul Revere, Freddy Weller, Keith Allison and Charlie Coe.

  • Remember listning to this song back in 1969 when I was in JR High School ,loved this song back then and still love this song 40 years later. The group is not the same without Mark Lindsay.Hang it up PAUL you are a has been.

  • You obviously haven't seen the new line up in Branson. They rock, even without Mark, sigh.

  • Even after 30 years I'd like Mark

    Lindsey!!

  • Even?? Especially!

  • ok! i just meant that he's as cute as when i first saw him when I was 10!

And that style is pure rock and roll!

    ;0)

  • Thank you! Great video with great sound and some nice women at the end. Where was this recorded, and was "fang" with the group then?

  • extended + Raiders

  • Truckinallday has extended version of Let Me @ 1.10 speed

  • amazing band!!

  • mark lindsay once lived with terry melcher at the 10500 cielo drive house that sharon tate was murdered in by the mansons.. he also lived at the wonderland house the "john holmes"murders occured at.... kinda creepy huh?

  • See Puzz and Let Me

  • Lindsay was an exceptionally talented rock singer and hot performer who got packaged in the cute bottle and to his detriment was incredibly successful. If he'd severed his image from the Raiders around '68 and gotten into the hard rock world where his punk tendencies belonged, he'd be a legend today - instead of eternally linked to Branson Paul Revere.

  • Still, what he did accomplish wasn't so bad.

  • NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA!

    That part always scared everybody!

    :)

    Thanks for posing this clssic.

  • lol.....heck yeah!!!!!

  • I'II LET YA!

  • Mark..what a stud

  • Wow! Its worth waiting until the song is finished JUST to see the hot babes in those 1969 micro-mini skirts! Those WERE the days!

And... for me, this may be one of PR&R's best songs ever. Toss up with Too much Talk, and You Shouldn't Take it So Hard! All three rarely heard on radio today.

  • Oh people, people, people. Do you think that being pissed off (Stephan) or being a groupie wanna-be(Marlo) makes a difference in the history of this music?

Not ONE bit! Neither of you are important to the story....the story is the music that many loved.

  • nevermind - E-G-A-B, with variations...sorry, should have sat down with my guitar first..btw, great posting, love this song! Thanks!

  • anyone have the guitar chords or know where they can be found?

  • Great Sound, Jadon.

    Perfect Pop

  • Stefan: I'm sorry to hear you think Mark "abandoned the Raiders." There is so much more to this story that neither you or I will ever know. However, I DO know Mark was the driving force behind them, wanting to move forward musically -- Paul did not. I'm also sorry because you've missed out on some great music Mark has put out!! :-) P.S. It was "Arizona," "Silverbird" and then "You've Got a Friend," later followed by more great tunes!! :-)

  • For anyone interested, there is a chat room set up specifically for Mark Lindsay fans while Mark does his radio show on Saturday nights for K-Hits. He broadcasts from the booth at his Rock 'n Roll Cafe in Portland, OR from 10:00pm,-2:00am. Go to "Rock Groups by Tom Brady," scroll to the bottom of the page & on the bottom right side is an icon for "Chat Room." Click on that, enter your name (no need to add a profile) and you're in. Hope to see you there!! :-)

  • Marlo, I am not interested. Mark had abandandoned the "Raiders". I see no reason to support him, today.I was a "Paul Revere and the Raiders" fan in the '60's. I no longer have respesct for Mark Lindsay. "Arizona" was the start. Or was it "Silver Bird"? whatever, Mark left the "Raiders". I will never forgive him for that!! =Stefan=

  • Wow, talk about holding a grudge! LOL

Anyway, great clip. I was wondering where Paul Revere was until I finally saw him in the back toward the end.

  • First concert I ever attended in 1968. I was 12. Never missed them on "Hullabaloo". I think it was Hullabaloo.

  • where's the oh oh oh ou!

  • This is my favorite Raider song! This song jams as much now as it did then.
