So if people were suddenly being born with psychic abilities in real life as in this anime, then yes, it would be attributed to mutations. Mutations simply add new information, causing new characteristics to develope. Stop using the word "mutation" as if it only refers to diseases and disabilities.

Cause the zero system would mess up there abilities to read his mind so they would have to rely on there own skills which decreases there advantage. Pretty much without there newtype abilities they cant really do anything at all. It hard to say still cause theres a lot of things that we dont know about the characters and there abilities. Also it depends on situation and what Gundam they use.

The Zero System also has the benefit of clearing the rightful pilot's mind, which makes Heero as unreadable as a machine. Newtypes need to sense emotions. Unless Amuro is in F91 or Wing Zero, he's going to lose to Heero in Wing Zero.
@orunir Newtypes do not simply rely on psychic abilities. They have an expanded consciousness; their incredible spacial awareness allows them to individually control many funnels/bits, and compliments pilot skill. Also, bio-sensors and psychoframes are capable of channelling a Newtype's psychic and emotional power to increase the capabilities of the machine beyond its limits. Combining Char's pilot skills and Judau's raw psychic power would crush ZERO, which simply presents options to pilots.
I dunno about this newtype buisness, I think I liked it better when Amuro was just a talented young man with an above average mobile suit as opposed to him being a super soldier...I mean, how is Char supposed to be a proper arch rival for him now? Before Char was FAR more skilled and experienced despite using less advanced mobile suits than Gundam and now after finally acquiring a suit that can fight gundam one on one properly, Amuro suddenly has super powers >_<

Too bad Amuro never got what was supposed to his mid-season upgrade, the RX-78 NT-1 Gundam "ALEX". That would have kept up with his Newtype abilities.

Four is an example of a cyber newtype. Kamille is a newtype but can display incredible newtype power though he does suffer a crippling blow when he fought Scirocco though in ANT (A new translation) altered the outcome so that Kamille has a better ending.

Challia seemed like a great guy, non-villainous at all. it's a shame he was killed when there were much more actual evil people out there but, as Sleggar put it, "This sucks, but it is war". I really also enjoyed Char's words about him at the end. Gave him much respect as a human being, a soldier and as a newtype.

I really also enjoyed Char's words about him at the end. Gave him much respect as a human being, a soldier and as a newtype.
