wow thanks for the tutorial. heard this on the radio about two hours ago and decided I would learn how to play it. ive already got most of it down. I'll hopefully get a video up in a few days. would appreciate it if you watched and gave your opinion. thanks again for the tutorial.
Awesome! I'm putting a duo together and I always wanted to do this song, but could never get it to sound right. Once we work it up, we'll be able to wow audiences just like I'm wowed right now! Major kudos! VERY WELL DONE! My hat is off to you, sir!
Just wanted to say THANKS for the great tutorial. Your playing is beyond excellent and your teaching thoroughness is absolutely the best. I know I'm not alone in appreciation for the effort you put into learning with such accuracy - reproducing the original. Please keep up the GREAT work... We will certain keep learning from you... Mike
hello Mike....really appreciate the kind post sir! Thanks for giving your time to check this out....i just saw a Crossroads show last night with the DB and was reminded again what an awesome talent Patrick Simmons is!! This tune is timeless to my ears - keep pickin!!
Sir this is a masterclass tutorial. You make it look easy but its not. Ive been playing this piece for 20 yrs by ear and had fun doing so until i come across this clip. Now it'll take me another twenty to do it the correct way now. ;C
i greatly appreciate your kind post and always great to meet another fan of this tune! If i can ever help in any just get in touch - all the best with your music,
I had this about 3/4 figured out but your very good instructional video will help me polish it off! THANK YOU! You did a very good job in breaking it down and I will add that I think it's AWESOME that you thanked Pat Simmons for all the great music he's given us. He deserves all the kudos.
Thank you! This is absolutely the most accurate and complete lesson on blackwater that I've found. Watched it yesterday, and played it closer to correct last night (on a job) than I ever have. Always just used dropped D tuning... this made it much better!

Hi Dale, I taught myself to play this little tune a few years ago.....not entirely to my satisfaction, as I felt certain elements were missing from what I was playing, all has been revealed now, and thanks to your Tutorial, I can just about do the song justice!
Always was a favourite Doobie song of mine anyway, ( amongst many others) all the best.
Thanks isn't enough for your post.......greatly appreciated! Thanks for taking your time to stop by my channel - most of all I hope this finds you very well & all the best with your music!
