@fighter20brawler10 99 means the level you are when you go into doom mode, meaning hes lvl 99 fighting marluxia, when it goes to 0, you die instantly, most of his attacks dont do damage, just takes off the doom counter.

really this Organization XIII and mushrooms are real pain, can't defeat them *lol*... at some point it makes me wonder, when i 1st played KS2 (NA), i beat Sephiroth on between lvl 70-75 (beat him on both standard and critical mode), now i'm 85 (FM+) and I can't defeat him <_< what with that!!! and now with Org XIII *cry*, I really like Marluxia but just fighting him with a Sora death counter on above of his head, really makes you love and hate Square Enix so much at the same time...

Marluxia whisper a spell to Sora now has 99 lives meaning not getting hit towards 0, but to regain more lives when Marluxia stops attacking, Sora will grab Marluxia's Scythe and throw it at him getting a few extra lives.

the numbers are damage counter (i think thats what they are called)and they decrease every time Marluxia attacks you, and even if you have full health yet have 1 counter and Marluxia his you KO XP! But on harder difficulties the damage counter is equal to your lev.... hope this helped!
