  • Mr. Pinstripe Suit by Big Bad VooDoo Daddy.

I love this song too ^_^

  • awesome, thank you so much! :D

  • cool!! Very nice. Thanx for sharing. Next time Im in the US, I come look you up and dance. :)

  • i love that spin at 2:02!!! it's awesome!

  • WOW that was awesome

  • That was realllllly good :) Good job!

  • GREAT JOB

  • you two are so cute! GREAT job

Quick advice from a pro...don't extent your arms so much, you can hurt your arms, and it's going to keep you from tightening you turns and tricks if you don't switch it :)

  • We use to call that spegatti arms. I think my dancing improved more in one month then it did in a year from learning to maintain arm tension.

  • I LOVE THIS!!

  • Awesome! I love to watch dances where chemistry just oozes out.

  • good dancing...

    I want to swing dance!!!

looks like a lot of fun...keep it up.

  • what is the title of the song used here???? pls.. thnx

  • WOW....That looks like so much fun. Impressive. Awesome dancing and awesome moves. 5 stars

  • such a fun video!

    and I love the song

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy ROCKS! haha

  • You are wearing that fro, my brother. You guys look real good.

  • So cool! So cool! So cool! The Bro with his 'Fro and you guys hoppin'! Thanks for the inspiration! -t.

  • this looks like fun! you guys dance well!

  • This looks like so much fun! Thanks for sharing.

  • Great vid...I've got a group of friends, and we all absolutely adore swing dancing...I liked this vid a lot because of some of the great moves...you said you've gotten even better which is great...I found this vid to be quite entertaining and worth watching again for some of the more complicated moves, but a select few of the moves I found to be slower, less impressive, dare I say bland and ordinary.

Not dissing you movie I'm just saying why I rated it only three stars

  • Dude, thanks so much. We've learned so much from your moves. You rock.

  • Im dizzy now.....lol.....great video...

  • Very good...well done.

  • I think you guys have really good form. The beat doesn't really matter cause sometimes you have to improvise dancing to a song you don't know very well. Now all you need to do is experiment with more difficult moves. You guys did well.

  • This was really good! I hope to see another one. :] Anybody know the song?

  • Big Bad Voodoo Daddy- Mr. Pinstripe Suit

  • very good don't fully extend your arms it makes you lose your arm tension.

  • you dont need so many turns but its ok

  • not bad, just work a little on keeping the beat

  • actually, 'jitterbug' was originally a nickname for lindy hop (one of the original forms of swing dancing), although for some reason now people are referring to east coast swing as jitterbug. The dancing above is east coast

  • The majority of judges and teachers consider Jitterbug to be single step 6 count swing. (step, step, rock step) East coast is triple step 6 count (Triple step, triple step, rock step) So if you want to get technical this video is Jitterbug swing since I am not doing any triple steps.

  • I was told by Frankie Manning (one of the original pioneers of lindy hop) that jitterbug is a reference to lindy hop. He was there when the term 'jitterbug' was coined, and it was in reference to a theatrical production his troupe was dancing in, where they were playing the part of jitterbugs (a type of bug invented for the play, I think) dancing in the forest. So then, people started calling lindy jitter bug. If you want the full story it is also in his autobiography. steps.

  • wtf, jitterbug is different from east coast lol. gotcha gotcha. now it makes sense...jitterbug...

  • is this west coast?

  • Nope this is East Coast Swing! Or as some would call it Jitterbug.

  • that is sooo awesome! did u learn by urself or did clases help? great job anyways i hope i can start swing dancing one day.

  • Im a ww2 re-enactor who is very much into the swing scene, at the 40's dances..I just wish I could dance like you guys...awsome...but I'll just keep on tryin..

    all the best guys....

  • Great song choice. =D Love me them Voodoo Daddies, hahah.

    Awesome dancing too.

  • I LOVE IT!!!

    you guys look so happy!

  • Awesome! So nice to see something natural. You both really looked like you were having fun. You move really well together. The music is great too.Thank you for sharing.

  • Very Nice. Great song..She sounds like she's enjoying the dancing. When are you going to put a new video up? Wanna see if things changed!

  • BIG BAD VOODOO DADDY! PINSTRIPE SUIT! i got so excited when i heard your song of choice... good stuff, not bad dancing either

  • the song is mr. pinstripe suit

  • You guys are awesome!!

Mind if I use this for my dance?

    What song is that?

  • Excelente, realmente divertido y cuidado. Un aplauso desde Galicia :D

  • very nice

  • Very nice! You look great together--good moves, and you keep a nice step!

Your swing style is very similar to what we learn in the Midwest...where are you guys from?

  • You're making me want to take up swing dancing, seriously. This looks like fun!

  • I AGREEEEE!!!=P

  • Awesome! You guys are really good together...If only my hubby would take lessons with me,we could also bond like this!Thanx for sharing.

  • hahaha! looks like you were having soooo much fun!

  • Great dancing - you are good

  • Haha i love this video!

  • i am the 23,771st viewer of this video...but this is the 1st time i will make a comment...it's so wonderful...i like it!

  • I loved it!

  • yeah good for beginers!!! truely! Just get your style (which means your twist on moves) so that you and ur partner are different and dont go out so far after turns and youll be good!!! Nicely done

  • Very good! Most beginers i know are always staying in one place. your steps are good to start, but the followers rock step is too big WAY too Big. Your hip roll was good too ( thats my specialty) the straddle was especially good.

the follower turs her body too much in the turn.

this is agood start! take some mre lessons and fine tune these basics, and pretty soon you will be great!

  • If you are referring to the girls posture, this isn't west coast swing, its not smooth and proper. You guys both did well, you used some basic dance moves and made them entertaining to watch, good job on moving around the room and rotating, some people like to stay in one spot and one direction the whole time, which is cool for them, overall nice job :)

  • Excellent, good energy and looks like you are having fun!

  • Cool I love Sonic ^_^

  • the video was great! the song is called "Mr. Pinstripe Suit" by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

  • o wow your guys are freakin good

  • I wish I could dance like that.. I'm jealous.

  • The more you dance the better you will be!

  • Hotness all the way!!!

  • you guys are adorable ^^; i really liked that slide when you leaned back with hands and the girl rolled around like a cute lil egg, imma have to tell our teacher to fill us in on that ^^;

  • whoa is that guy samoan?

  • No I'm half black half white.

  • I really like that you guys are actually dancing instead of just trying to show off a bunch of fun flips and lifts. You have good energy and footwork, too.

  • the girl needs to keep her body strait, she was bending in several occasions and it doesn't look good.

The guy can use some small but faster movements. Other than that I think the guy is doing pretty well

  • shut up it was awesome

  • True, it's really sweet!

  • great dancing! I really enjoyed watching it. :)

  • hahaha you two are great. this made my night. great music too what track is that?

  • "Mr Pinstripe Suit" by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is they are dancing off of.

  • Hey what song is that called?

    (You guys are really good!)

  • The song is mr. pinstripe suit. Thanks!

  • I'll practice the moves from 00:40 - 00:57. Thanks for showing them.

  • I'm going to a dance on Sunday, any chance I could get a few tips? lol awesome video =D

  • wow you guys are doing way better than any of these other vid.s here, even if it sint up to "pro" standards!! You guys are actually haveing FUN! Maybe you should try and explain that to the ppl in these other vids eh? Cheers and keep on dancin'!

  • you 2 are very very good!!!!you are both in sync the whole time, and look like you having fun as well!!!

  • you guys look like you're having a total blast....it makes me look forward to my next lesson that much more!

  • Nice 'fro. =D

I want to learn swing dancing, which is why I've been looking at the videos on YouTube. Good work =D

  • wow, you guys are pretty good. i hope to get as good as you guys. i like the song too. what is it?

  • noce hair

  • ape,

quick trick for you. You do a variation of one of my favorite moves. the belt loop with hand change behind your back. After you are holding her right hand with your right, give her an outside spin behind your back just before you change hands.

  • ooh, jenny looks drunk doesnt she

  • It looks more west coast. If I were doing lindy hop to something that fast, I'd do footwork I learned as "fast lindy".

  • It's definitely not West Coast. WC is primarily a 8 count dance (with 6 and 12 ct moves thrown in) descended from Lindy Hop, with a lot of Hustle influence. Its danced in a slotted format, is much smoother and (imo) ballroom-ier. I could go into much more about the differences, but there just isn't space, so there's the generalization.

  • What about those triple steps???

  • There are different kinds of swing dancing, including the East Coast and West Coast. West Coast Swing (or Jive) has triple steps, but it's not what this couple is doing here. I'm not too sure what East Coast swing is like, since I've only learned Jive before. Maybe someone else can clarify this for us more? =)

By the way, really great swing dance video! It is surely one of the best ones I've seen by far on YouTube! I wish that I have a chance to learn this kind of swing!

  • This is just single step 6 count swing. The count is like "step(1,2), step(3,4), rock-step(5,6)"

Thanks a lot I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • what there are doing is east coast swing, a 6 count basic step. It a good absic to learn the lead follow you'll latter need in lindy hop or west coast. By the way there are tripple step that can be included in east coast.

    nice video!

  • I love Swing Dancing! hey whats the name of the song playing?

  • its called either mr. pinstripes or mr. pinstripe suit by the big bad voodoo daddy's.. great band!

  • Mr. Pinstripe Suit by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (Sezarera had it)

  • The song is Mr. Pinstripe Suit by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. One of my favorites, by one of my all time fave bands. Go buy their first, self-titled album (aka Americana Deluxe, depending on where you look). Check out Royal Crown Revue while you're at it. Great stuff :D

  • makes me want to take it

  • Fantastic. Your moves aren't that advanced but you're comfortable with the steps and having a great time and that's all that really matters. Never seen a fro swing like that. Great!

  • Wow. THIS IS GOOD. haha. everyone else's swing videos suck. i like ya'lls.

  • Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • Great, I loved it and learned a few news moves. How much was choreographed?

  • None was choreographed, We just turned on the music and started filming. There were a few "verbal leads" Though.

  • Hi! You two look really good. Great moves! The only thing you might want to work on is your arm connection. You do what I call the whiplash... when you step back you lean back and let your arms straighten out. It's a lot easier on your arms if you keep them bent and let the tension stay in your hands. Also, this way it is easier to feel signals from your partner for the next move. The most important, though, is to have a great time... which you do... so great job!

  • I'm talking about the girl in the video, btw. sorry for not being clearer...

  • I agree with swinginchic - the follow also needs to work on making her rock step smaller and on the ball of her foot, which will also help to keep that from happening. Also, your basic isn't squared most of the time. I suppose that's fine for styling once in a while for East Coast, but it looks to be part of your basic at this point, and that's not good. It limits you on a lot of what else you could do out of your basic. Otherwise, good job!

  • you two are really really good! great job :)

  • Thanks! I'm going to be uploading another swing video soon!

  • You guys look easy and casual - great job. Let me know if you put up any videos with new moves.
