Yahoo has an ad network. You seem to have ignored them. There are a ton of advertising services over the net. Some may pay higher than google. Paypal is not the only payment service. You have no alternative?  Do you really mean you have no good alternative? Because there are other services out there.

I don't use chrome. I prefer opera and firefox. Chrome is not my style. Thus google does not control the browser. Firefox was started with google ad revenue did you know this? They still make money from google and other search engines. Maps? Mapquest? Yahoo Maps? Why do you have to use google maps? E-mail use what you like. Hotmail, yahoo mail, mac mail. OS? Chrome OS is not even out.

A monopoly only comes with the exclusion of choice and competition. Goggle has done neither. They are good so you want to use them, then complain about using them. The way they did business (and still seem to be doing, look at the NVIDIA thing with the Nahalem chipset for example) was pretty damn dodgy. They've been sued by several governments because of it and other companies.

Why do you have to? There will be no antitrust. Explain to me why you have to use google? Because they offer a better experience? That is like me saying I have to use an iphone so ATT has monopoly. You could just use .mac mail, yahoo mail, etc. Your argument has no backing. You could argue that you have to use MS because there the majority of software is made for it, but why do you "have to" use google?

The Apple loyalist, like yourself, would still buy the Apple hardware. But opening OSX will broaden the market that OSX would have. If Apple is not a software company, why then, are their most flagship products mainly software? Final Cut, iLife, Aperture, OSX, iTunes, etc.

The profit margins from the Macs are where every other computer vendor would kill for. Apple are more than happy being a small market share OS wise but making a large amount of profit from what they do sell. Also they like being in control of what the software is used on to ensure the best possible user experience. That's what it's all about with Apple, the experience. You get it from the Store to using it to if you need support, it's one company to deal with rather than several.

With the info google has on every one and the chance of a security breach, they are nothing like apple. Apple has nowhere near the info on me google does. But AFAIK the difference is Apple does not share that information with third party advertising partners, unlike Google.

MobileMe been an advertising free premium subscription service, NO third parties.
