  • Was nice short sample of Tai Chi Chuan fighting

  • looks not so realistic.

  • Maybe the best thing is a combination of internal and external styles so you can be well-rounded. I practice Jow Ga Kung Fu along with Yang-style Tai Chi Chaun and a bit of Bugua thrown in for circular motion...

  • i'm with you my friend glockboxer why people insist on commenting or even watching things they clearly don't like just to bash? i mean if its useful critisim then fair enough but pointless bashing? come on people grow up its like school yard bullshit "i can bust you up." "yeah but my mate can kick your ass." to what end? what does it really prove? nothing.

  • with so many people talking smack about mma and tai chi it makes me wonder why some people take time to write comments on vids they don't watch or understand. Here is a comment-short clip, nice transfer of force, bad camera shot that doesn't show the practical applications.

  • Most real Taiji masters as such could easily maime, disfigure, neutralize, kill, and otherwise slap the bejeezus out of most MMA types. Fact not fiction. They should thank their lucky stars that Shaolin monks, or Taoist Masters don't step in because they would guaranteed lose the fight ugly and quick. Chinese don't use pads either, nothing sissy about that, neither do Japanese, Korean, Thai, Laosian, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Filipino, etc.

  • 'Most real Taiji masters as such could easily maime, disfigure, neutralize, kill, and otherwise slap the bejeezus out of most MMA types. Fact not fiction.' - based on what evidence exactly? An aura of invincibility is easily maintained if you refuse to fight.

  • It's a bit of a catch-22. In China there have been many verifieable stories with eye witness accounts but for the matter most real Taiji masters try very hard to never have to fight, but if push comes to shove even Shaolin masters are not necessarily better than a Taiji master. Call a master up and see if he is willing to go full contact maybe not with you but some MMA guy. I doubt it but you never know.

  • Whatever yanks your tweenkie FamilyQuan, I know Chen Xiao Wang could easily end nearly any fight regardless of style, but if you want to believe that a "hobby level" MMA type could take out the living Grandmaster and direct descendant of the oldest "modern style" Taiji in the world be my guest. Perhaps master will "entertain you". LOL Good luck.

  • Fair enough Family Quan and you are like a typical schoolyard bully that gangs up with "bigger" bullies to intimidate smaller, weaker looking types. Whatch out that someday a seemingly weak "Taiji" player might kick sand in your face if you force them too. Peace. You talk tough enough, why don't you try it in Henan near Mt. Song close to Shaolin and see what happens I would be LMOA. Peace.

  • Beginning or intermediate players would get their arses handed to them 9 out of every 10 times. Peace.

  • I practice Yang style Tai Chi myself and I wonder why there is not a single...NOT A SINGLE!!!!!.... professional fighter with any internal martial arts background. There isn't even a single video on youtube with an internal martial artist in a full contact fight. WHY THE FUCK? Doesn't it work or are neijia-people usually too sissy? I gotta find out myself...

  • Why don't you become the first, just realize that even in China you are usually not allowed such competitions until you have gained a lot, I mean a lot of skill and demonstrated a basic mastery of the basics, something few Chinese(relatively) have done much less Occidental (Westerners) people. Good luck, most internalists don't actually seek to fight nowadays but it used to be a little more common in China in the older times.

  • Thanks for the motivation :-)

  • Tut tut FamilyQuan, after all your 'hardman' comments about Liming Yue (a living legend) I took a look at your video on kicks and I'd advise anyone who reads your comments to do the same... I fell about laughing, it was hilarious. I particularly like how you edit out being hit buy your own bag...I'm still laughing now...

  • I think it has to do with the fact that a lot of the time nowadays, those people who are drawn to studying internal styles are the ones who wouldn't be that interested in fighting professionally anyway. And as far as Chinese fighters go, there aren't that many gaining recognition internationally, I suppose.

  • well done. It changes your taiji to practice with more resistance. Greater yang leads you to develop greater yin.

  • i don't know and i dontcare

  • Did you read the description? its from a show, not a real fight.

  • it's about balance, not force... thats the key to tai chi... slow beating the fast... soft against tough force...

  • well not really.

    fast can be slow.

    and force can beat soft.

yin and yang can go both ways.

  • have you ever had a real fight against a strong opponent as an adult?

  • I respect your opinion. But applied correctly, taichi is has very useful elements.

  • Not very clear camera footage.

Also, to me it looks like the guy is just throwing wild swings, I don't see a very realistic attack. But I could be wrong

  • well in reality not everyone can fight. most people can't throw jabs.

  • Vibrant and realistic demo of Chen Taijiquan Applications. This is a good showcase of what Chen Taiji is capable.

  • This is a real Chen Style Tai Chi application to be used in China.
