In reality, the followers of Yeshua (Jesus) were just another Jewish sect until the end of the Fourth Century when the Roman Catholic Church passed a law that forced a break between the Jewish followers of Yeshua and their Jewish heritage. Of course, things are changing and Jewish believers in Yeshua have the freedom to return to following their Messiah.

I have heard your reference to Matthew and Isaiah a few times from other Jews who use it as their argument. As for Matthew, frankly I don't know what the Aramaic said or if the English translation is wrong. I would think if it were wrong, it would have been corrected in one of the more modern translations. As for Isaiah, a young damsel would still fit right? I guess your point is to show that there are translation errors in the Christian Bible. But I am not an apologist.

Cyborg:Why would Christians who push the virgin birth change the word to young maiden? But guess what? Some Christian translations do translate the word correctly such as Good News, Revised translations. Just read Prov. 30:18-20. The main with a maiden (almah) is not a virgin.

As for Bibles agreeing, you have to understand the first book to see if the 2nd agrees. You can't read the 1st through the eyes of the 2nd.

Jesus was a poor child so he definitely was not a jew because jews of that time were already extremely wealthy. All jew children of that time were taught to read and write while the children of the poor never learned how to read and write which is why Jesus never wrote anything down.
